Atheists are more tolerant than you may think. Some are loudly protesting believers, but I'm sure most are tolerant of other points of view. You just don't know about them because they are not loud.

Not XD. I looked back at his posts. There's a massive number of anti-religious posts ridiculing and name calling anyone who makes a pro-theist comment... even though it's not directed at him. He represents the angry, rabid atheist that most of the country can't stand. It's so many posts as to think there's an underlying cause. Something happened to him. Perhaps a bad experience. Perhaps self-pity or some misdirected anger at God. He can't not attack a theist who merely expresses his views. Perhaps poor parenting. Perhaps no parenting at all. He said his parents were atheists so rather than understand the concept of gut value programming, which is responsible for his views, he belittles the education that defines him. Hit a nerve. Perhaps another part of the self-image. Ops' wife was absolutely right about this.

In any event this guy invited the abuse now and he's gonna get it every day. Tried to be nice. He continued to call all of us names. Smack him every time he abuses another poster.

No. What defines an agnostic is (most fundamentally) their belief that we can't simply can't/don't know whether or not a god exists. Their belief has nothing to do with whether or not something happens after we die.

By definition, the Off-Topic sub-forum is not intended for gun related topics at all. If you have no interest in talking about religion, there's a very simple way to avoid it; don't open threads that are as obviously religion-based as the title of this one should've alerted you that it is. But don't spend a couple weeks here and then try to impose your own ideas about acceptable banter in the part of the forums specifically set aside for other-than-gun-talk topics.
