Monumental Challenge

Nowhere in the Constitution does it say anything at all...nothing, nada, zip, zero, zilch about "the separation of church and state"!
Correct me if I am wrong, but the statement (using a paraphrase) "the separation of church and state" came from a letter written by Thomas Jefferson (the author of the Declaration of Independence) to a group of people as he described (what he thought most people would take) the wording in the Declaration of Independence to mean.

Jefferson writes: "...I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should 'make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,' thus building a wall of separation between Church & State." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danbury_Baptists#cite_note-5

Your point? In any case you are correct as is my statement in my previous post!

My point was (and is), that you are correct. At no time does ANY of the wording in the Declaration of Independence make the statement about the separation of church and state. The presumption of such is on the reader.

I do not even know what to say.

Thanks HunterLee. Things sometimes gets confucing trying to communicate like this.
Yes the cross was taken down. Head one on the news it was for the scrap value.
I vote that when they catch the perpetrators they are charged with a hate crime along with other charges!

Yeeeaaa...I was watching that on the news last night. Really got bent out of shape over it. They showed some idiots putting a plywood box over the cross. If God finally turns His back on this nation, we are screwed. Call me old fashioned, but I believe the reason America became so great over the last 200+ years, is because the face of God was shinning upon us.

If that is old fashion we need more old fashion people.
