Today's headline - "AG Holder cleared of wrongdoing in Operation Fast and Furious." The AP report says, "Justice Dept faulted in gun-trafficking operation". Everyone is to blame except the man who actually runs the department. Heads rolled, but not Holder's, because he supposedly didn't know about what was going on in his own department. How convenient. Gone are the days when a department head would still be held accountable for such a fiasco, because not knowing what was going on in their own department constituted failure to properly do their job and exercise the oversight with which they were trusted. So another administration official skates, while underlings take the fall.

"In a 471-page report, Inspector General Michael Horowitz referred more than a dozen people for possible department disciplinary action for their roles in Operation Fast and Furious and a separate, earlier probe known as Wide Receiver, undertaken during the George W. Bush administration. The report did not criticize Attorney General Eric Holder, but said lower-level officials should have briefed him about the investigation much earlier."
