Early 2006 - Wide Receiver was indeed a G.W. Bush administration operation but was halted in 2007 with no arrests made by the Bush DOJ. Three years later the Obama administration initiates 9 indictments against suspects from the Wide Receiver ops with varing amounts of prosecutorial success but none against the proverbial gun running "kingpins".

Oct. 2009 - The Obama administration initiates an entirely new initiative which becomes known as "Fast & Furious". Obviously, not learning anything from Wide Receiver and making the gun tracking even less secure than the Bush operation, Obama/Holder go headlong into another plan to walk guns over the border with the same intentions as the Bush scheme. However, with the death of an American border officer and over 200 Mexican national deaths the whole deal blows up in the face of the Obama admin.

Obama/Holder inherited absolutely no gun walking operations from the Bush era. The concept came from the Bush admin but no active ops. F & F was of their own volition and they totally botched it up. For supposedly being among the smartest men on the planet these two have proven themselves to be completely feckless in most aspects of their respective positions!
