The Ruger is a good weapon and a decent shooter to use, still a little big for CC, but if thats what you got........were you and your wife going to use the same gun for your qaulifying?, if I may suggest get her a SR9c and use the Jennings as tradeing material, because not only is a 25 cal a very underpowered rd, the Jennings is not very reliable, then when you can get a better qaulity gun for a bug

SR40c is a great carry gun but a Jennings? Get a Kel Tec p3at or a Ruger small .380 or a Beretta Bobcat .22 or Tomcat .32
I would never trust a Jennings.

:pleasantry:

OK, I have several 1911's. I wanted something smaller for carry but in the same caliber. So I bought a Kahr CW45. Perfect size. Single stack. Thin. Shoots perfectly after 400 rounds. Then I was thinking. Why not have 2 smaller .45's just in case one crapped out on me. Tell me what you think. I took a stock Rock Island Armory 1911 Government model in brand new condition and traded straight up for a Glock 30 .45 in brand new condition. How did I do? The Glock also came with 3 mags and a tac holster.

Best decision you ever made. Except that the new Glock 30S is now out. It combines the short frame from a Glock 30SF holding 10 rounds and the short slide from the Glock 36. A mean lean fighting machine. I have Glock 36's and Glock 30's and am happy with either. The G30SF is sufficiently accurate and ultra reliable. I carry with a Smartcarry holster and carry one in the chamber and two spare magazines for 30 rounds plus one. It makes me warm and cozy. When I am wearing light shorts I carry Glock 36 with +1 magazines on the reload, making the 7 round magazines. The carry magazine is their standard 6 rounder and I carry one in the chamber for a total of 7 rounds or 21 rounds on the go. 21 rounds of Speer Gold dots in .45 ACP in an ultra reliable gun with night sights and lazer assist. I carry a small high (very high) output flashlight as well preferring the two handed approach to lighting. I feel quite comfy with the Glock 36 and two spare magazines (21 rounds to go). And it carries and conceals very well. YOU will NOT be disappointed with that G30 but if you are looking for another one, I'd look at the 30S or 30SF and compare them as to comfort in carrying and comfort of the gun in your hand. I demand that my distal joint crooks around the trigger finger.

Thanks for your valued opinion Rocketgeezer, I will most likely use the SR9c for qualifying next weekend.
The Jennings was a gift received from my Dad years ago and is just a fun toy. I wouldn't trust my lovedone's lives to it

BTW, my wife qualified with her Springfield XD9 Sub-compact last Saturday, she scored 19 of 20.
She placed her first 11 rounds (the minimum) in the torso of the B-21 target, then got cocky and did head-shots!:triniti: Not too bad for a gal who shot her first handgun two months ago.
The rest of her "Females Only" classed were shooting mostly pink 22's:haha:

LOL, in case you have not realized it yet unless the dude is ex military or police that has had specialized training, more often than not women make better shooters, at targets anyways, they don't have the macho attitude like guys and take instruction and heed it much better than guys, when useing sights and shooting targets my 16 year old grandaughter can out do myself and her mother and grandmother, and that includes anything from the 22 to the 500 mag, well maybe not the 500 that really rattles her, LOL

Recently bought a Smartcarry holster for deep concealment. Works like a charm in hot weather. Am still, after several years, trying different holsters. Current carries are Glock 36 with spare +1 magazines and Glock 30 with 10 round magazines so that I am "Canada legal" when returning to north of the 49th. where, for the most part, there is no concealed carry - or carry of any kind for that matter, for us private folk. It is very rare. There is provision for carry for armed guards and 'wilderness carry' for those in the trapping industry, etc., for protection from predators, but no carry otherwise for all practical purposes. HOWEVER, as a US citizen I still have SOME rights to carry when travelling stateside and I exercise those rights whenever and wherever possible. After one carjacking attempt and one home invasion 'attempt', one does not need to hear arguments for or against firearms... they are moot. We (my family and I) are fortunate indeed to have escaped both unscathed.

Wish everyone would tell us what they are using to carry with (i.e. what holster(s)).
