Perhaps, but not MY butt. I haven't used spellcheck in my life.
That being said, "moron" in this case is a term that leftists typically throw out there not because the target of their ridicule is demonstrably less intelligent than they are, but because of two reasons:
1. They believe that by ridiculing someone else it will make them look better (stupid, but nasty humans do this all the time) and
2. They believe that anyone not agreeing with all leftist ideology is stupid.
I believe you're confusing "street smart" with intelligence. In short, people who think on their feet and can get away with things at the expense of other people may, in your estimation, be more "intelligent" while in my estimation they are simply rude, opportunistic dicks. That does not equal intelligence either, sorry.
With today’s technology it simply isn’t possible to have never used a spellchecker, but I get your meaning. Don’t worry. It wasn’t a challenge. I won’t dare you to meet me behind the gym after school.
.
I never stated, suggested or even implied that I was referring to street smarts or someone thinking on their feet rather than true intelligence. I have no idea where you got that notion. Are you sure it was my post you were thinking of when you replied? It can get confusing sometimes, especially if you’re multitasking at the time.
.
I also made no hint of anyone trying to get away with anything at the expense of others. If I were in the mood to do something like that, I could just maybe ......... act snobbish or arrogant about my education and intelligence and imply that others are less worthy if they don't have such an education. There are two reasons people might do something like that:
.
1. They believe that by ridiculing someone else it will make them look better (stupid, but nasty humans do this all the time). They might do this by calling them names, such as rude, opportunistic dicks. and
.
2. They believe that anyone not agreeing with their views on education is stupid.
.
Fortunately I'm not in the mood to do something like that. It would be pretty rude.
.
We’ve run into this exchange by means of the same mechanism that causes countless misunderstandings on the internet every day, the generalization. You suggested something as an absolute or axiomatic when it is nothing of the sort. Usually a generalization isn't that much of a big deal. They typically only result in minor misunderstandings, but when someone attempts to use generalizations as insults, their inherent inaccuracy often creates problems, particularly on a medium such as the internet where you don’t have the added value of non-written communication elements, such as body language, voice inflection, etc. It becomes even worse if you're just dead wrong about something, as happened here.
.
I can easily restate my post in a nutshell. Simply put, education does not simply equate to intelligence, nor does knowledge for that matter. Education can do wonders to expand your pool of knowledge, but that knowledge alone won't necessarily make you smarter. The numbers as so high as to seem axiomatic, but they aren't absolute. There are geniuses with no formal education and there are idiots with PhDs. I’ve met and worked with both, more than once and sometimes extensively. Your statements seem to indicate you don’t understand that due to your comments about "street smart" and “people who think on their feet” even though I’ve never said either of those things.
.
As for the street smart people and those who think on their feet being “rude, opportunistic dicks”, I’ll take your word on that. Fortunately I’ve never been forced to work with anyone like that. And you didn’t have to tell me you were sorry. I don’t believe behavior like that would equal intelligence either. You can also drop the thinly veiled insult by attempting to imply that I did believe it, along with all the other veiled insults throughout your post. You aren't fooling me, and I find it extremely unlikely that you're fooling anyone else here either.
