SC restaurants that have posted no CWP allowed.

South Carolina is 1 of the most gun friendly states. If any restrictions are done, it is by private owners of businesses in which they have that right.

J Peter's restaurants in upstate area. Anderson, Oconee, Pickens areas. Includes Johnny Angells and Catch & Fetch in Anderson. Mr. Angell stated before restaurant carry passed that guns would never be allowed in his establishments. Count on me to not support his businesses.

Say what? South Carolina has some of the most restrictive firearms laws in the country. One of only six states to disallow open carry. A laundry list of places that permitted concealed carry is not allowed. Things got a little better this year but we still have an incredibly long way to go. Are you sure you weren't talking about some other state?

Have not seen restaurant firearm signs and could not care less about restaurant firearm signs but I can tell you if they are there and I am making a decision to go out dining and or entertainment at a bar or restaurant and I am going to have to park my car for retrieval in a dark garage or darkened street in downtown Charleston, my situational awareness tells me to go elsewhere. In Charleston I can find many bars and restaurants that will be suitable replacements for my first choice. Heck, this whole issue will still, as always, come down to money. If a bar or restaurant starts to see a drop in business, the signs will come down. Those who complained about the current change in the law are uninformed morons who cannot even think for themselves, as they talk about "shootings at the OK corral". Regardless of these changes or even if they come up with more restrictions to the likings of the morons, the shootings will continue in bars and restaurants not by the responsible CCers but by the criminals--that is why they are called criminals

I might've posted that statement I made out of ignorance. I thought that a major parts manufacturer for Colorado moved it's business to SC late last year because of Co. latest restrictions on guns? I guess it was wishful thinking on my part in referencing SC. I DO KNOW in Indiana, WE are 1 of the most gun friendly states in the Union. Just FACT!

I agree with you, kelcarry, $$$ talks and when push comes to shove,,,,money has a VERY HIGH % of winning out.

I just watched a show on the Investigation Discovery channel about a woman from Nashville who was stalked. Her and her husband worked karaoke at a ring of bars. At the time one could not carry in a bar so she was forced to leave her gun in the car every night. She didn't like this at all but complied. Then she met her stalker. She resisted his advances. His acts escalated until one night he walked into that bar and capped her husband in the head as he ran the karaoke show. I guess he forgot about the "no guns" law for bars.

Regal theaters, like Toys R us and other businesses' have start up kits that contain generis no guns, no smoking, shirts, shoes, etc. In SC as many have mentioned for the sign to have the force of law it must meet certain criteria. Generic signs do not. Just walk past them. However, if noticed and asked to leave you must without argument.
Not true, you just have to leave. I highly recommend arguing and giving them an earful on your way out ;)

I've seen that episode/story before, about the karaoke folks in Nashville. Scary as hell. SCARY.

And you know that creep knew she wouldn't have a gun because she'd be a good law-abiding girl.

I say again. SCARY.

hp-hobo: I don't consider "open carry" a distinction that a state has such great gun laws. Yes, SC may be one of 6 states that does not technically allow open carry however many of those states that allow it are not that "open" to it. The law may be on the books but try exercising that right and often you will find yourself prone. From your other posts I am sure you would handle this this in an aggressive way but bottom line the fact that open carry is on the books doesn't mean it is accepted. CT has open carry. Think it happens often. There are fewer restrictions on NY & NJ permits than SC why do you think that is? Hint; not so easy to get.

Not just New England but New York and New Jersey too and I am seeing and hearing a lot more of them.
New York allows the carry of a concealed weapon in a bar. I've never seen a sign at the door of any bar or restaurant, it's always been legal and signs carry no weight of law. Don't lump us in with those new to bar or restaurant carry. We've been doing it legally as long as I can remember. For that matter churches, banks, hospitals, etc... always been legal.

Holy sh!t, I've been asking around to people if it's just my imagination or does it seem like to you that every time you get on the road there's about 1 NY tag for every 2 SC tags you see. And that's just NY. Between NY, NJ, MD, and CT, I probably see more of them combined than I do SC tags. But I've only been noticing it here in the last couple months.

Vermont has open/conceal carry without a permit.
As such, I open carry daily. The response is usually a big WHO CARES?!
No one is getting thrown to the pavement (proned).
Vermont is Constitutional Carry.
Our gun freedoms are written into our State Constitution. If you want to instate a permit system, you better expect one hell of a fight!
Some libtards have already infiltrated Burlington but they are finding things harder than they expected!
Our guns and gun laws aren't going anywhere nor will they be changed.
And if "you" try......
We will strike it down.

Yup. Me too. I'm buying 42 acres between Hendersonville and Asheville. I want peace and quiet and lot's of land for dirt bikes, quads, shooting sports and crops. It's mostly the libs and city-dwellers that are staying in NY. The upstate folks are leaving for the Carolinas, GA, TN, TX, etc.; mostly the folks who don't like liberal mentalities. But I think it's gonna drive-up your taxes as people relocate. In the 60's a lot of the public assistance crowd flocked to NYS for their liberal giveaways and we see how that turned-out. Some of the highest property tax in the country to pay for schools. If you own anything in NYS they're pretty much chasing you out. Cuomo went a far as to say if your a pro-gun republican we don't want you. Arrogant bastard! Who is he to tell me that. I was born here, before him. Did he ever think perhaps it is who I don't want him and his band of social thieves here.

Apparently over 60% of the people of the State of New York who voted Cuomo in gave him the authority.

If it is the upstate folks that are moving south and not the socialist libs city dwellers, then why would that drive up our taxes, we aren't increasing our public assistance programs. Hopefully Gov Haley and our legislature will pass welfare drug testing and removal of junk foods in SNAP.
