Las Vegas Shooting, CCW carrier may have been involved

tcox, rhino and blues - did you read the article I posted? "hero" was in quotations because that was the headline of the friggin story. I am in no way saying he was a bad guy, read again:
I didn't take issue with the "hastily" comment, nor with the story you linked. I tend to agree he lacked in tactics, though I won't fault him terribly for not anticipating the second shooter the way the situation played out. But when you referred to him as a victim of "I have a gun and I'm gonna save the day" syndrome, that was characterizing him as someone just trying to inflate his own ego by playing hero, and he was absolutely not that kind of person based on what we know. That's what I had a problem with.

Shooters carried arsenal, supplies into Sunday rampage | Las Vegas Review-Journalwhich was linked in the first article.
The part I am talking about (my thoughts in blue)

What do you want me to say? That I agree with you that he "should've just stayed the Hell out of it?" That I think you're qualified to judge his ego or his motivations for getting involved in the first place? Not going to happen. You have no idea how far away the male was, or how many center-aisle stands of cover were between Wilcox and him, so saying he "left cover" where he "probably had a shot" is nothing but rank conjecture on both counts.

I don't know how much more "gentle" I could've been in expressing my thoughts about Wilcox to you. No, I didn't read your link. I have no problem with you posting it, but I don't have to swing at every pitch that comes up on the board either. I've been sick as a dog behind a treatment that's kickin' my ass and really, I'm surprised at myself that it hasn't caused me to fly off the handle rather easily, but I don't think anything I've said in this thread could conceivably be described as such, so just accept that I don't agree with your take on Wilcox and leave it at that, whaddaya say? Jeesh.

Until we get surveillance video to study we can only speculate about what was going on between Wilcox and the shooters. I hope it will be released soon.
But what I'm really sure of is that as usual, the antis will try to use the death of Wilcox against the carry community.

Howdy,

I've read all the post in this thread about "training" and "situational awareness" and I hate to be the bearer of bad news but........

I know there are a few LEO/former LEO and Combat Vets and Vets with combat training but believe it or not watching "Die Hard", "Lethal Weapon" a couple of times and play COD on your Mom's Wii doesn't qualify as training. I know, I know, most of you DO believe it does but it doesn't. Going to the gun range and "training" with a "Professional Trainer" who doesn't have any real world experience other than Die Hard", "Lethal Weapon" a couple of times and play COD on his Mom's Wii doesn't count either.

Wilcox didn't have any real training and paid the price for not knowing what he was doing. He should have let the professionals do their job. That's why the Taxpayers spend a lot of money to train them.

The sad part is that he got killed by a woman with ZERO training.

The Iller's were nutjobs that fell for all the BS on the 'Net and actually believed they were Patroits and that when they started their "Revolution" all the other nutjobs that post about start a "Revolution" would join them.

Howdy,
...blah, blah, blah...

Wilcox didn't have any real training and paid the price for not knowing what he was doing. Check
-
He should have let the professionals do their job. That's why the Taxpayers spend a lot of money to train them. BS, a response is usually needed well before the statement takers show up.
-
The sad part is that he got killed by a woman with ZERO training. BS, Red herring, few criminals or crazy's spend money on training unless they received it in the military

But it's this last little nugget that I want you to pay attention to.

The Iller's were nutjobs that fell for all the BS on the 'Net and actually believed they were Patroits and that when they started their "Revolution" all the other nutjobs that post about start a "Revolution" would join them.
Since he is describing his own kind, there is probably more than a grain of truth to that.

Paul, the problem is (as usual) you deviate from the original topic so you can mention Tinfoil, basements, video games or violent movies. Seek help.

I quoted 12 roses, but this reply is for Blues, Rhino etc. that have been beating me up about this.
-
12Roses stated more succinctly what I was getting at. AGAIN I say that I had no problem with Wilcox intentions, but based on the story which said he told his friend "I'm gonna do something" it made it seem like bravado. Had he succeeded and survived, and we got the same story I would have had the same questions. Did he see an immediate threat and act appropriately or did he step into a phone booth and come out with a cape and tights. You just had one of those liberal idiot politicians say that all the stories about good guys with guns stopping bad guys with guns are hogwash, and you and I both know how stupid and delusional that is, but if Dems (who don't need facts) can actually point to something and say "see, I told you so" the sheeple will follow.

Do you think Wilcox wouldn't have tried to help if he didn't have a firearm?

The MDA is delusional, and when has the psychiatric patient ever told the doctor what was wrong, and had been right? Just because the sheep follow what's wrong, doesn't make what's wrong right.

Here's the problem with tin foil man's argument...

Wilcox didn't have any real training and paid the price for not knowing what he was doing. He should have let the professionals do their job.

The sad part is that he got killed by a woman with ZERO training.

His so called professionals with "real training and situational awareness" died without even seeing it coming. They too died by a woman when "ZERO" training. Their "training and SA" also led to them paying the price for not knowing what they were doing. That's who he wants to take care of our safety?

Simple Paul...should be Simple Jack.

So saying I don't agree with your take is now "beating you up?" Here, let me take another lick - I'm going to say something - I don't agree with your take.

Too much bravado for you? Tough sh!t.

You, as usual, got it wrong. I'm not tin foil man, the nutjobs on this forum that post all the nutjob stuff is tin foil man.

Like I posted earlier:

You may "think" your Super Top Secret Mall Ninja Training will give you the SA to avoid the situation cost the lives of the cops and Wilcox but it will not.

Sorry to burst your bubble.

I'm at work right now, having lunch, and my co-worker, Will, is a true Patriot that most of the members of this forum would be PROUD to call him their friend and hero because he spouts the same looney BS that several members post on this forum and guess what?

No, he doesn't have a "Command Post" in the basement because his Mom has a slab home and it's in the spare bedroom.

He never post stuff on the 'Net because the Gov't is after him but he does read all the looney BS and watches the looney YouTube videos. He's always spouting about the "Revolution", "FEMA Camps", black choppers from the UN, and how Obama is putting chemicals in jet fuel that's causing the vapor trails behind the planes, and other crazy tin foil crap.

I expect him to go on a shootin' spree any day and I asked him if he knew the Millers.

One thing about nutjobs and crazy people, they think they're normal.

Great point, and I think it is part of my lack of hero worship. I do not think he would have, I think he was "gun-brave". I can't recall which shooting it was recently (too many crazy libs) but I do not think he would have stepped up unarmed like the pepper-spray guy recently did, unless he or his family was threatened.

The MDA is delusional, and when has the psychiatric patient ever told the doctor what was wrong, and had been right? Just because the sheep follow what's wrong, doesn't make what's wrong right.
Obviously right on all counts. My only point was that this "hero" story is easier to spin than any other "good guy steps up" story I have seen recently.

One thing about liberal dipsh!ts, they think they're right. You are by far the most ignorant yet hysterical poster here. You have really lame jokes that don't apply, let alone insult and you are a middle-aged child who still believes in utopia. Just as you say you come here for entertainment, the rest of us can always count on your comments being hilariously inept in every shape and form. You sir, are a world class dumb@ss... Please, keep this comedy going... we here need a good chuckle at the expense of a clueless liberal.

I love reading stench guys posts, just to see if I can decipher his TINY nugget of philosophy...
There truly is emptiness behind his eyes..
