Will he carry 1 In the chamber NOW??

1911 one in the chamber.
Hmmmm

I do it all the time.
Anyone who thinks a wheel gun is safer has a few issues...

Or they disabled the palm safety...
Now I don't have an amby safety for many reasons....

I put 1000 plus rounds thru a 1911 monthly... And shoot others. For cc I think the 1911 is one of the safest out there....

Good luck with your C3 weapon.

Lastly.... As a Marine vet. 1990 to. 1999 I can say I only carried C3 one time.... And that was only due to the type of risk with special diplomatic crap.
And that was behind closed secured doors as a tertiary guard...

Even going off base as a troop escort required C1!!!

It was very very very rare to even hear C3... Should someone made it to my post I would have had lots of notice....
At least 10 minutes if not more.
So wherever you were that you KNOW Marines to carry C3 you weren't trusted.. That is if you were a Marine...
Not that I blame them seeing your knowledge as shown here!

If "were" a marine would still"be"a marine.

Hhhhhhmmm, since my vehicle got shot up in front of my house about an hour before I had to leave out for work a couple of years ago, people getting shot at 3 in the afternoon, shootings at each end of my block one summer, a neighbor getting robbed and pistol whipped, and the fact that I live next to door to a house full of criminals in which the mother was arrested by a Philly SWAT team for the murder of her husband. Uuummm Im going to keep one in the chamber like I've been doing, just like when I went to combat in Panama in 89. Ty for your opinion Mr Arc.

Sounds like you need an MP5, not a 1911.

I own a Glock 27, but damn I need a mortar, AT4, 240B machine gun would be nice lol .

What's so bad about it, this isnt even the worse part of Philly by a long shot. The proliferation of section 8 does a neighborhood bad.

I carry my cock unlocked. Oh wait we're in a gun forum.

C-1!!!! Since day 1. I like glocks fact. even though my main weapon is a 1911. Finger off the trigger, safety on. Also common sense.
During my required 8 hour range time to get my Michigan permit the instructors beat it into our brains and made sure after every shot (or rapid 2-3 shots) the person immediately took there finger off the trigger. If u didn't they would yell "finger off trigger now" very effective. 1 on 1 training is the safest way to teach anyone gun control.
I don't know it all but I do know if your finger is off the trigger and you carry a safe firearm, you won't have any issues carrying C-1.
I'm just a young whipper snapper as the older generations would say but I see a lot of ignorance from some ppl on here. Carry how you want. Don't insult people because of your beliefs.
What's next? Try to convert everyone to satanism by insulting them? Not gonna work. It will make ppl hate you;)

Guys GUYS - Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you to death with experience.

Can't you move to a much more safer neighbourhood? Or another state? I didn't know Philly is that bad...or is it only where you live? Just asking...not mean to be offensive...An ADT sign doesn't really mean anything especially if the crimmies knows how to time between the calling of the police to your place and their arrival at your place.

The way the housing market is and the economy, trying to sell would be a challenge. So far the ADT signs and stickers have worked. No attempted break ins. If the alarms goes off they're pretty good in contacting you and sending the police to check. Besides if the BG are that smart that they can time the arrival of the police then they're pretty good. So far from what I've seen most BG are dumber than a brick.

To hell with that, it sounds to me like you need to move dude...but an MP5 would be fun too

Within the next. 5 years ill try my best. Not trying to grow old in this place. Neighborhood will be a total hell hole by then. Here's a little update, just had a home invasion the next block over yesterday . A Korean business man and his wife got robbed by some teens . They made off with $30,000. Gotta stay in that combat zone mode around here.

Maybe you can hire arc to defend your place as he carries with a hollow pipe

Thanks

Interesting stuff here. Thanks. For those without a safety, such as with the LCP, I can understand not wanting to keep one in at all times.

I can't speak for anyone else but my LCP is my BUG. I keep it Chambered at all times. Racking the slide on they little booger would be the last thing on my mind if I went to it. Maybe I should train while wrestling on the ground with someone just to see how easy it really is. Seems its a piece of cake to some or maybe they haven't used the phrase "what if?".

Besides, the trigger pull is so heavy and long if you pulled it while drawing it just shows you haven't trained your muscle memory to rest on the slide or guard while drawing. Maybe I'm the only one with no AD with an LCP

Arc Angel: As much as you like to brag about your writing skills and mastery of the paragraph, please for the love of all that is good and gracious, STOP ABUSING THE COMMA. I literally cringe while reading your posts.

Do you, still, like my writing skills?

There should be exactly ZERO commas in that sentence. ZERO!

Now are you, also, saying ...

WRONG.

You tell me what will, also, happen...

Your attempt at humor is, both, anemic and somewhat salacious.

I, almost, don’t know how to respond!

I further suspect you and I have, both, lived long enough to prefer to shoot on the far right side of any firing line we’re on.

NONE of these require commas. Go to your nearest community college and learn some GRAMMAR. If that's too much trouble for you, Let me google that for you

Ok. Whew. Now that that's off my chest, let me get back on topic. Arc angel made a good point (no really) when he said that if a bad guy is within range that a half second can make a difference in a life or death situation, many things have already gone wrong. However in the news story in the OP, the guy with the gun forgot that his gun hand no round in the chamber. This could easily have cost him and his friend their lives.

As to the overall question of what condition to carry in, I lean more towards C-2 rather than C-1. This is, of course, entirely dependent on the weapon, but that is my personal preference.
