Which calibers do you shoot...?!

New to the AR world, but have to add my novice POV: Quality parts + Quality Ammo produces quality results. I have shot 1,000 + rounds of very cheap russian ammo through my gun without cleaning; everything being chrome & new, wiped right off. The gas block was the worst part and even that wasn't bad. That said I use quality reloads now, just cause.

My AR-15 has jammed as many times as my duty-issued Glock 22 or personal carry Springfield XDM has gone off by it's self sitting in the holster - none. Even the selective-fire rifles issued by my department have never jammed, and we've put thousands of rounds through them, many times not cleaning for 2-3k rounds.

You're comparing a government issued rifle that probably had 100k rounds through it and a probably never maintained or cleaned AR-15 to a well-maintained AR-15. I'll gladly put my "cheap" AR-15 against a Mini-14 any day. I sold my Mini-14 because it was a piece of ****. As soon as I mounted a scope on it, it stopped cycling - I also had four FTEs and a stove pipe with it during that time. And yes, it was a brand-new Ranch model 581. It had 20-30 rounds through it when I sold it for $200 less than what I bought it for two years prior, because they're not worth the $700 Ruger is charging for them.

To each their own though. I'm happy to know my "cheap" AR-15 can out-shoot the $1,000 Mini-14 Target model, as well as Mini-14s that have had a ton of work done to them.

Due to firearms I bought myself and others I've received from the passing of relatives, I have (2) .38sp, (3) 30.06 rifles and (2) 12g shotguns. Most of them are not what you'd call "pristine" because in the hands of my family, these were tools for hunting and defending themselves, not collector items. Someday I hope to pass my small but proud "tool" collection down to my children and grand children as well.
 
I have to add 22 mag and I do have a 22 short I inherited that I am terrified to shoot.

Try Xanax or Prozac or Valium. I used to date a lady who used these and when she was on them she was fine. You will be too.

Until an anti-gun justice is appointed and a new case is brought that will change the face of gun rights in America for generations to come, if not forever. Given the age and health of the current justices, the next POTUS will likely make one, if not more, such appointments to the SCOTUS, making such a scenario not only plausible, but highly likely. There is plenty to be concerned about as far as gun rights go. The truest fraud therefore, is you.
