.22LR, .223\5.56mm, .308, and .40S&W. I keep it simple, and don't own anything I wouldn't use or feel comfortable carrying all at once in the event that SHTF.

I do plan on adding a 12 gauge later on, but first is going to be a Hornady L-n-L AP so I can start cranking out some ammo.

Really... I'll shoot anything, any caliber. Why not... What I have, if the Govt don't already know I won't post it here.....

I have shot many different calibers....sadly I recently lost all of my firearms when my house was burglarized and I don't plan on purchasing anymore firearms. I didn't even report the incident to the police because I did not want to bring anymore unneeded attention to my home.
I have decided to become a 'pacifist' and I now only carry pepper spray.
Peace and love to all. =-)

In this sucky economy the only thing I can afford to shoot is marbles. I am saving up for a can of peas though.........:dance3: GOT MILK? No really, got milk?

You must have one hell of an ammo closet/safe!

I am a CCW permit holder from Delaware and carry a Ruger SR9 as you may suspect. Have had pistol for several years. It holds 18 rounds with 1 on chamber, and I carry a spare (17) mag. for a total of 35 rounds. I love this gun.

Great question.

So what you really mean is 'which calibres does everyone *own*.'

My primary defense handgun is a 45ACP. I believe everyone should choose between either the 9mm, the 45, the 40, and the 10 mm as a primary defense handgun, and that's my choice.

My secondary defense firearm is a 12 gauge pump shotgun.

For defense in the field, the woodlands and mountains, my defense handgun is instead a 44 mag revolver. I believe everyone should decide between a 357, 44 mag, 45-70, or 500 S&W for defense in the woodlands and mountains, and that is my choice. For me, the 357 is too light, the 44 is about right, and the other too are too powerful to enjoy shooting them with confidence.

My primary hunting rifle is a 300 RUM. For hunting, I believe everyone needs to pick an ideal calibre, somewhere between 243 and 465, whatever recoil you can stand. For me, the 338 and anything larger is too powerful and painful, and for me the 300 RUM is perfect.

It is conceivable to make an argument that you might need more than one hunting rifle, but I am not sure I would totally agree.

I don't own an assault rifle (here having the meaning of gas operated, magazine fed, semi or fully auto). But I used to own a Ruger mini-14. I like the open bolt design of the Ruger Mini's, and if I were to get another one, I would get either a mini-14 or a mini-30. The AR-15 designs have never been a favorite for me. It seems to me that a pump action shotgun more than makes up for an assault rifle for defensive purposes. And I do not plan to go on offense with an assault rifle anytime soon. That's why I disposed of the mini-14 and got a pump action 12 gauge instead.

Lets see...

.380 acp
9mm
.40 S&W
12 gauge

That is, until that horrible boating accident on lake Champlain last May!

That is a really good combo for self defense.

I think the 9mm and the 40 are redundant, unless one belongs to your wifey. Or unless one is compact for CCW while the other is full sized for O/C or just on your nightstand in the night.

Good choices.
