Unless Smith & Wesson has duplicated model numbers, a model 39 is not a Chief's Special. A model 39 was S&W's first semi-auto pistol in 9mm which was adopted and made famous by the Michigan State Police. A Chief's special is, usually a .38 spec 2" bbl (sometimes a 3: bbl) revolver. The two are very dissimilar.

Ditto, I said it before. I've carried both, I still have and sometimes carry the Chief's special (3" bbl J frame), and miss the old mod 39 9mm.

Kahr PM9 - all the way...

My every-day carry gun is my faithful Kahr PM9; I've had it since I got my license in 2004 and it has never failed in any way since new. In cooler weather, I sometimes swap it for a Kimber UCII ...

So besides the fact that Biker Bill and I have motorcycles in common...we have Kahr PM9's in our sights as well. Light, compact, just plain cool looking...I suggest Pierce finger extensions for it though )

+1 for the Rock Island 1911. Actually, +2 because I have 2. I carry a compact RIA 1911 and, clothes permitting, a full sized RIA 1911.

Smith & Wesson did not duplicate model numbers. Your statements are correct. The original semi-auto model 39 had problems and was not widely accepted. However after several iterations, culmulating with the 3913 it was a fine gun. Two offshoots were the 939 and the LadySmith.

I see many popular Rugers listed, however only the SR9c. I carry the SR9 full size model most of the time.

I often carry my Beretta 92fs in a shoulder holster or just IWB as well as my s&w 629, 637 and sigma .40. was surprised not to see it listed, although it is a large frame. then again, so is the 629, depending on barrel length. mine is the 4 inch "mountain gun" special edition, just about the same size as the 92fs for all intents and purposes.

My Glock 27 has been my second gun while on-duty for many, many years, so its typically what I carry daily, as well. For hot weather when bulky clothes look out of place, my Keltec 32 is always in a pocket. But there is always additional weaponry & ammo in the truck!

Carry Weapons

Hi all,
Main carry, a CZ 75 SP01 Tactical .40 full frame, and a CZ 2075 RAMI 9MM sub-compact. At times I switch with my Beretta 92FS 9MM full frame, Taurus PT 1911 45 cal, and Colt government Mod 70 45 cal. I find by doing this I take the time to go to the range and fire them to keep proficient with each weapon. Gives me the chance to clean and know them better on a regular basis.
