Blues, you're cynical against anyone who wears a badge. We pretty much all know that by now.I rest my case. The badge you wear has poisoned you. You are now officially "The Problem."

Well I can't help but wonder who are the correct ones here...those who deal with these individuals face to face each and every day, or those who just read about them in the paper? This is absolutely true. But whereas other cops and ex-cops may have been unfairly tagged by me as part of the problem without much evidence to go on, I had a conversation with you here, and you had to convince me. Your trainers have taught you well. Your indoctrination into assuming certain classes of American citizens to be unworthy of your protection and/or service and/or even so much as caring about, is apparently.....complete.
It has truly been a sad thing to watch.

From CNN "Witnesses testified that child locks on the SUV were engaged, and that Davis -- who was seated in the rear -- could not have gotten out of the back seat to threaten Dunn. But Strolla said the teen could simply have opened the door by putting his hand out the window, which was open." There was no proof presented that the rear door was open. The only person who said it was open is Dunn who was caught in numerous lies and attempts to get a witness to lie.
.
There was one door that WAS open. Dunn's.
have you ever heard of the constitution? the bill of rights?t. Before our search incident to arrest, we asked if they had any sharp objects and gave the typical examples. They both said no. Guess what we found during our search? Both had spoons with meth taped on the inside, a bic lighter, and an uncapped used syringe. Now I understood the risks of this job when I signed up, and I'm not saying I can't accept them, but I get to go into work each day and wonder which one is gonna be the day I go home with aids or something else because these dipshits don't realize that "yes" or "no", it's gonna be found. So no, I really don't care about someone like that's past or whatever the hell they've been through.
I've already blew the door theory. I mean I'm not saying it wasn't open because obviously the only people who know that are the ones that were there. But if he fired the first round of shots at the door as it was parked directly next to him, that would be a 90 degree angle to the back door. Then if he figured shots as the car was backing away, that would result in a different angle than 90 degrees.By "Witnesses" you mean the other delinquents in the SUV, one who was braking parole by being out that night and another who was serving time for burglary at the time of the trial? The child lock story is less likely than the shotgun story. Look at the shot angles and explain to me how the SUV door could not be open.
CNN is not exactly unbiased. They keep reporting that Jordan was unarmed when he had a tactical knife in his pocket with a four inch blade. I don't know what the rules are in Florida, but certain municipalities here in the Pacific Northwest restrict carry knifes to a three inch blade.

Please please please re-read my post. You are 110% correct. I never said anything about them refusing to answer the question. I know exactly what the 5th amendment says. We cannot make them be a witness against themselves, or in other words we cannot force them to answer any questions or force them to say anything for that matter. What I said was that I simply and kindly ASKED if he had anything sharp on him. This individual did not take advantage of his 5th amendment right to silence. He chose to speak. His answer...was a LIE. If he didn't wanna answer, he didn't have to. If you do answer, "the truth and nothing but the truth so help you God".have you ever heard of the constitution, the bill of rights? the people you wanted to search have zero obligation to inform you of anything, your health and welfare means nothing and it doesn't trump their right guaranteed by the fifth amendment.

Corrupt and abusive? Searching a guy upon arresting him for committing a crime is abusive? Okie dokie...somebody has become a little too liberal minded. First you're condoning a guy shooting a car full of teens over loud music, then we're abusive for making sure someone doesn't have weapons on them before taking them into the jail...you're just all for the common criminal aren't you?the better response to the corrupt and abusive is I WANT A LAWYER

I don't dare tell a fire fighter the best way to deal with a fire...
So if my lack of concern for your constitutional rights is what you're worried about...
It ain't my rights I'm concerned about at all. The odds that I will ever share a jurisdiction with you are nil. In fact, my concern about how you protect and defend citizens' rights is a smaller concern than how you will handle seeing other cops abusing citizens, or planting evidence, or writing false reports, or extorting money from drug dealers, or any number of other crimes that cops engage in on a daily basis in this country. Will you step in to stop it? If you will, will you report it to your superiors? If you will, and those superiors take the typical stance of LE management by sweeping it under the rug, will you work your way up the chain of command until someone takes your report seriously? And if you will do that and still hit a brick wall, will you be a witness for the abused citizen and tell the unmitigated truth about what you witnessed or otherwise have knowledge of?
My cynicism about cops is not something so shallow as to be focused only on one individual, especially an individual who isn't even sworn in yet [meaning you]. My belief is that corruption and abuse is a systemic problem, and it's a meat-grinder for rookies who don't have the maturity or life experience to know how to resist it. So many of them are simply assimilated into the "brotherhood," and turning a blind eye to the abuses and corruption becomes "just the way it is" for so many of them. If you manage to buck the odds throughout your career, what I said here won't matter a wit, and I'll be long-dead, so you're welcome to take it all with a giant rock of salt. As for me, I gotta go take my Geritol and get some sleep. Good night.
I mean I can't help but agree with the sheriff here. Why put him in jail where he'll be safe from his own lifestyle? This sounds to me like a case of 2 meth heads doing our dirty work for us...

Blues, I still 100% disagree with you, but I'm going to stop my argument with you right now because I'm going to wind up saying something that is only going to upset you way worse, and it isn't going to do any good because you are 200% set in your way, have your mind made up about everyone, and it can't be changed.Hey you little tyrant-wannabe b i t c h, I spent my sister's entire life learning first-hand about mental illness, and the addictions she was prescribed by the state into and out of like they could be turned off like a light switch. If only. Her illness and her addictions sent her to an early grave. Thank God it wasn't at the hands of a cop with your attitude of not caring about their pasts, because I'd probably be in prison after huntin' their thug-asses down. "Just" read about in the paper....Pffft. You have a knack for sticking your foot so far down your throat that you can scratch that nagging hemorrhoidal itch with your big toe.
I have tried to impart wisdom to you, punk. Wisdom born of personal experience, work experience, ministry experience and education. You will twist words beyond any semblance of their intended meaning to "win" some meaningless "point" that only you, in your burgeoning jack-booted-thug mentality, claim to understand. You should've listened when I gave this advice about six months ago:
And now....
....All my fears of how you would turn out as a cop have come to fruition. You come off as a full-on indoctrinated automaton with no concern for the human beings you are sworn to serve.
You don't have 1/10th the experience I have with junkies and the mentally ill, Junior, and probably won't even if your career lasts 40 years. You really don't want to go there again.

Some posters think none of us have experienced the horrors of life.
