I would just like to make the observation that everyone in jail has a story about how they are innocent. Some actually are!

Go thru the proccess again and get a new certified dispostion, it will save time and prove that it is current, because I can guarantee that when you go to buy a firearm the fed will delay your purchase or outright deny you.

From what I read, you said some other lady was using your name. Also, you stated the Police found out that you weren't that person by finger printing. You shouldn't have been charged for anything. You can bet that I would've gotten a lawyer, and made damn sure all charges were dropped, because it wasn't me that committed the crime and the cops proved it by finger printing.
No offense, but your going to have to bite the bullet for not trying to get all the charges dropped for something you didn't do.

i'm not sure but it could have been another person with the same name as i and yes they did finally compare prints and realized it wasn't i ...but in the meantime the cop had to lie to have an excuse to arrest me in the first place.. i wanted to fight it but i was told it's better just to forget about it and you can't fight city hall and stuff like if you go to court and it's just your word against a cops you will surely loose so i didn't persue it i let it go only to find it come back to bite me in the ass time and time again
still i want some justice here my god i've paid way too much already for this bogus record and now it seems i'm going to have to pay yet again out of my own pocket to try and get it expunged just so i can get a ccwp
yes that does piss me off and would or should piss off anyone whose rights have been trampled all because some deranged cop lied!

I feel your pain, it took Presque Isle County, Mi- 4 months to approve my permit- and I've never even had a speeding ticket!

I know it's diffucult,and aggravating to be dealing with all these problems. Just remember cooler heads will prevail. If everything you say, Is how it happened, You will be able to get all this Legal Problems resolved.
It should'nt cost you any Legal fee's at all ! This is all leg work you can do yourself. Once you have the Certified Disposition you can petition the Court, or Respectfully request your record be sealed,or expunged.
The Department of Agriculture is just looking to make sure that the Charges agaisnt you were dropped, Dismissed, and or sealed.
They are not trying to Jam you up. They are just doing thier job trying to prevent CCW's from being placed in the wrong hands.
Try not to take it personnel, they are not singling you out. It's just going to take a little longer to get your permit. A good friend of mine had a Felony charge from 25 years ago that was Dismissed that popped up when he applied for his Florida Permit.
When he received the letter in the mail requesting an Certified Copy of the Court Disposition he sent the paperwork back to the Dept of Agr. Within one week after he sent it in his approval letter, and permit was in his Mailbox.
So, it really didnt take that much longer. Yes I agree with you, and its horse crap that you have to deal with this all again, But in the end it will be all worth it. I can not fore see any Legal reasons why they would deny you an CCW.
Be thankful you dont live in my State of New York, they would, and will use a charge like that to deny someone thier permit Based on the reasoning ( Not of Good Moral Character) I've seen it happen to allot of poeple here in New York Once that happens then the Legal Fee's start adding up it's bullcrap, but thats how New York State Operates.

At a hearing, the guilty plea was formally presented to and accepted by a judge. Based on the admission of guilt, a sentence was imposed, served, and a criminal record exists.

the only thing they dropped is the felonious felony charge and they still falsely stuck me with two misdemeanors

It should not cost you anything to have your record sealed. And yes you should get those records sealed,or Expunged first chance you get.

thanks cya i will see what i can do to fix this problem once and for all it's a nightmare to say the least to have this bogus record hanging over my head all those years now is the time i can take care of it and rightly should too

Resisting arrest and battery of an officer are pretty much ALWAYS BS charges. If a cop tries to arrest you and you say "wait, you've got the wrong guy!" they charge you with resisting arrest. If you so much as shift your weight funny and the cop feels like you encroached on his/her space, or they're manhandling you into the car and you accidentally step on their foot, they charge you with battery. Heck, it wouldn't surprise me if you could get charged with battery for farting in the backseat of the car.

i got a copy of the disposition of the court from that terrible incident 30 years ago and they still stuck me with
resist without violence
and battery
both misdemeanors so i'm keeping my fangers crossed hoping that don't prevent me from getting my ccwp
if so i may have to spend like 200 usd to get it expunged once and for all and then re apply for my ccwp
