No, it cannot. There is a huge atheist community waging war on anything religious. That's already a fact.
I've read it several times, as well as the book it's based on. The language definitely leaves something (lots, in fact) to be desired. But that doesn't invalidate one bit the substance of her comments. The "liberal" code word to characterize nonbelievers is a tired, dumb cliche that intelligent believers should have abandoned long ago.

That's nothing more than a typical atheist rant. It just substantiates what I and many others have been saying; atheists are driven by emotion & anger. I know it's hard for an atheists to understand that Jesus is the answer & remedy to the anger & sins of the world; but, it's the TRUTH.
That being said; Christians are not infallible. We all make mistakes and we all struggle with what remains of our carnal nature. But, we Christians do understand that Jesus will ultimately come again and rid the world of the evil that we all get frustrated and angry about. That's why we have a peace & assurance that atheists don't; because they refuse the TRUTH of the Gospels.

while i am pleased to say the "community" is growing, not everyone is outright to take everyone down. only time i give a damn about religion is when it's being forced upon others by laws and outdated thoughts and is trying to regulate people that do not share that philosophy.
do i care about crosses on the side of the road for deaths? no. do i care about the endless billboards and pieced together signs on the roadways? no. do i care if someone comes up to me in public about their local church? no. hell, i play soccer in a ymca league and stand there (w/o bitching, moaning, throwing a tantrum) while they say a prayer before a game.
not everyone is "out to get you", but then understanding the above would take away from the paranoia.

Narrated Sahl and Abu Usaid: The Prophet married Umaima bint Sharahil, and when she was brought to him, he stretched his hand towards her. It seemed that she disliked that, whereupon the Prophet ordered Abu Usaid to prepare her and to provide her with two white linen dresses.

Why because I enjoy freedom and the ability to speak the truth. Truth backed by facts and documented history. Believers say they back up their faith with a book I can easily prove ( and have ) to be made up of stories wrote by man with the primary intention of maintaining control over the masses.
I know exactly what happens when I die life ends game over.
In the bible god wiped out the majority of people on the earth for not having faith and being evil saving but one family and animals on a boat ( Genesis 6:19-20 - "And of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every kind into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female.) this is mathematically impossible giving the measurements in the bible even if you use the measurements in the Hebrew version before it was miss translated ( never corrected though ) even 50 times the size would not be close to large enough in yet today with all the evil and the openly anti god felling of so many he does nothing?
My question is as always how much reality and facts need to be seen to overcome faith and why even in the face of such proof do so many need faith. Easy enough to answer death. Death is the key to all religion. It boils down to being able to accept this is you're life live it to it's fullest or spend that life worrying and fearing what will come when you die here thus giving you false hope that life is more.

If there was proof of god or an afterlife aside from what a fictional book suggests, this convo wouldn't be happening. If I had some proof or spiritual occurrence to suggest that Im going to touch the face of god when I die, Id be a believer. But being scolded or even persecuted by someone with the threat of hell because I don't believe in a biblical fairytale isn't going to change my mind. Especially when I believe that fairytale was written BY humans.

b/c of the baiting by the OP w/ a title as it is. i havent been in a religious topic in here in a long time, aside from the ones where we're getting called out. more importantly, why are people posting religious threads on a gun forum vs a religious one and why waste your breath trying to convert people who obviously dont want to hear it and will not do so? being in this thread is standing up for what we believe in after being called out. it's no different than someone trolling on here about gun control and people backing up their own views against the subject. some of the threads on here read like they came from the swindler and liar, Harold Camping. if we see that ringo isnt posting anymore, we'll know why...lol
when i'm gone and cremated, it's not going to matter at that point. i'm not going to do like so many others and try to repent on my death bed as a CYA move...just in case. i live my life as a good person to others, keep my life clean (security clearance maintainability on top of lack of interest in "bad" things), and support my family every way i can. IF there were something and they'd allow me to burn for not saying one sentence in servitude, but let a rapist priest in b/c they did say it, then they're as big of a douche as i've thought and i'd continue to be happy with my choice.

One basic question... have you read the bible? One must understand the subject material before he can discuss the merits. This is a history book, a law book, a book of accounting, a guide to controlling infection and finally... a guide to living so mankind doesn't destroy itself. Yes, written by men. Why do you follow the commandments handed down to Moses if its all baloney? You do follow those commandments every day, whether you realize it or not.

You make a left-field statement about how I live my life with no actual knowledge. I go to church twice per year. Everyone who believes in God isn't some weirdo religious fanatic. I've lived my life to its fullest every day. There is no robot-like subservice. At least nothing more than you. Why do you follow the commandments handed down to Moses? Are you aware you do this every day of your life. You teach it to your kids as well.

If you are going to quote what the bible says please cite chapter and verse as I do..
Again the 10 commandants are cited all the time but in fact the first few are in fact just do as I say or else. The last few are are moral rules that where around LONG before moses. In Fact Chinese socicity had laws covering all of the non you god related ones several thousand years prior to the 10 commandments. Morality can be had without believing in a god.
