I sat in church Sunday morning and listened to a sermon on peace and love. It wasn't "sky-daddy" or any of these other taunts. It was a person preaching peace and love between people. The sermon said love your neighbor even if he doesn't love you. Make amends with those whom you're at odds. Accept people despite their differences. Help your neighbors. Help those in need. When I left the service I felt a sense of belonging with those who seek peace. The church was in the hood (yes, I went to that church my entire life and still do). It was packed despite the snowfall from Saturday and through the night.A great example demonstrating the danger to society when groups of people believe in fairy tales about omnipotent beings.

I've never understood an atheist who has a complaint about this sermon. What is so objectionable about a man preaching a message of love and peace. It wasn't "sky daddy." It was a message to be tolerant and to not fall into the trap of hatred and bias. What is so objectionable about a man instilling these virtues in people?
And you know with absolute certainty there are no beings on mars because... ?Hundreds of years after the death of the guy on the cross called Jesus of Nazareth, a random group of underground fiction writers, over an unknown span of time, composed the various fairy tales collected in the book Christians call the bible. There is no evidence at all that anything in any of those various fairy tales could have been written by Jesus himself because he was long gone, every word is supposedly what he thought or heard or said, a complicated fairy tale. The entire Christian belief system is built upon that fairy tale. Very sad for the true believers, but there is nothing more. In my humble opinion, belief in an afterlife is very similar to belief in men on Mars.
