As I sit and read the threads on USA Carry and watch the evening news I see all this crap that the people are spouting about Obama and the election blah blah blah.......and it makes me wonder, is anyone here really proud about this country and to be an American.

I know what most of you are thinking at this point, "Hell yeah I am proud!!!!! Thats why I didnt vote for that moron and his socialist policies!"

How about we support our leader, regardless of which party he is affiliated with.

Lets go against the grain folks. Lets not conform to the "status quo" of people who like to complain all the time.

Lets support President Obama. And when we disagree, call our Congressman.

He has a big billet to fill and needs all the help he can get.

Lets show people we are proud of our Nation and our leader, who WE THE PEOPLE SELECTED!

I agree to some degree

We need to use our governement to it's greatest advantage. +1 on contacting congressman and senators. That is the way it is supposed to work. We have rules and laws for a reason. Biblically we are to honor the governing authority...unless it goes against God's law. Our Constitution is that governing authority. As long as laws are not being broken we need to suck it up and toe the line.

You are 100% correct in your thinking.

I am more or less saying we need to support our President regardless of which party he is affiliated with.

Alot of people say "Liberals are babies and whine and cry to get there way." We are doing the same thing folks.

Lets support Obama and show the WORLD that we are proud to Americans!!

I didn't vote for him for several reasons and it does worry me to a degree about what he may or may try to "change" while he is in office. Now with saying that he is the elected president and I'll support him and use the right channels if I disagree with something he is introducing. Now, if he starts attacking, restricting, ect our God given right, constitutional right, ect it is also our responsibility, being proud Americans, to standup against anyone and fight for them.

Whats THIS WE THE PEOPLE CRAP?? I did not vote for the guy and i'm one of the people.. As for supporting him i don't have to do CRAP!!! I did not put him in office so I'm not going to support him..

You Are Right!

I will protect and defend the constitution as I swore to. If we give him a chance, He will screw up and get impeached.

but until he does he is president elect Obama. If he is found to be unfit for office prior to being sworn in then we will have Vice Pres elect Biden until a new president can be chosen per the 20th amendment section 3

my .02..

1. I did not vote for him.
2. I will support good things that he might accidently do.
3. The Bible comes first. Then The Constitution. If The President goes against either , I will not support him.
4.I will not support Marxism in any form , including any tendencies towards globalism in all it's forms.
5. I will not support a change in The Constitution or The Second Amendment.
6.I AM VERY PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN. ALWAYS WILL BE AS LONG AS SHE STANDS FOR WHAT SHE ALWAYS STOOD FOR. I AM EVEN MORE PROUD TO BE FROM TEXAS!!

Not only that, but it does no one any good to hope for the president to do poorly. No I did not vote for Obama, but since he did win, I will hope that he succeeds for the sake of this country.

Define Succeeds... Succeeds on a gun ban... Succeeds on giving the illegals amensty... Succeeds on taxing us to give it to the non deserving... I do not hold much hope for Husain's definition of Succeeds...

He gets the same "respect" from me that liberals have given Bush over the past 8 years.

They've made their bed....now it's time to lay down in it and go to sleep.

Unfortunate "they" did it but all the rest of us will suffer the repercussions along with them.

I thought my post made it clear that success meant doing what's good for the country, and not necessarily fulfilling one's agenda (especially if that agenda includes more gun restrictions).

Yes but following Obama plan taking away guns is for the good of the country.

All joking and sarcasm aside, I want this country to prosper under Obama. I do not like how George Bush ran things, but I did not root for him to fail; heck I still hope that in his last two months in office, that things pick up, not only because I want a smoother transition for Obama, but because I'd rather my country be prosperous than not, and that's regardless of who is president.

I would have voted for almost anyone that was running against Obama. At this point, however, I hope and pray I was wrong and he does a good job.

I voted and rooted for John McCain for President. More Americans voted for Obama than voted for McCain, simple arithmetic. Barack Obama is the President-elect, and will be sworn in on January 20. I hope he does a good job. As I keep telling people, history determiines who is a god and who is a bad president, not the people who are his contemporaries. Are you aware that Franklin Roosevelt, in his Fireside Chats was lying like a wet rug to the people? That was reveled by a new lie detection technology called a PSE. Many people still hoot and holler that LIncoln freed the slaves. He did no such thing. If you read the Emancipation Proclamation, it says that all slaves held by people in states in opposition to the Union were to be free. He was talking about the Confederate States of Americe, which was the enemy at the time. The Proclamation had no legal effect whatsoever, but was a brilliant political move. Our Founding Fathers were intelligent enough to build safeguards into the Constitution, along with checks and balances that protect that document from tampering. Whether I voted for him or not, the time has come to stand behind President-elect Obama and step into the future. If he screws the pooch, we can always remove him from office for high crimes and misdemeanors, as provided for in the Constitution. Many of our country's finest young men and women have died to defend these principles, and it has worked just fine over the past 200+ years.

here is your change and we are off and running...

Senator Barack Obama's presidential campaign slogan, "the audacity of hope," should have instead been "the audacity of deceit." After months of telling the American people that he supports the Second Amendment, and only hours after being declared the president-elect, the Obama transition team website announced an agenda taken straight from the anti-gun lobby--four initiatives designed to ban guns and drive law-abiding firearm manufacturers and dealers out of business:

"Making the expired federal assault weapons ban permanent." Perhaps no other firearm issue has been more dishonestly portrayed by gun prohibitionists. Notwithstanding their predictions that the ban's expiration in 2004 would bring about the end of civilization, for the last four years the nation's murder rate has been lower than anytime since the mid-1960s. Studies for Congress, the Congressional Research Service, the National Institute of Justice, the National Academy of Sciences, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have found no evidence that gun prohibition or gun control reduces crime. Guns that were affected by the ban are used in only a tiny fraction of violent crime-about 35 times as many people are murdered without any sort of firearm (knives, bare hands, etc.), as with "assault weapons." Obama says that "assault weapons" are machine guns that "belong on foreign battlefields," but that is a lie; the guns are only semi-automatic, and they are not used by a military force anywhere on the planet.

"Repeal the Tiahrt Amendment." The amendment--endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police--prohibits the release of federal firearm tracing information to anyone other than a law enforcement agency conducting a bona fide criminal investigation. Anti-gun activists oppose the restriction, because it prevents them from obtaining tracing information and using it in frivolous lawsuits against law-abiding firearm manufacturers. Their lawsuits seek to obtain huge financial judgments against firearm manufacturers when a criminal uses a gun to inflict harm, even though the manufacturers have complied with all applicable laws.

"Closing the gun show loophole." There is no "loophole." Under federal law, a firearm dealer must conduct a background check on anyone to whom he sells a gun, regardless of where the sale takes place. A person who is not a dealer may sell a gun from his personal collection without conducting a check. Gun prohibitionists claim that many criminals obtain guns from gun shows, though the most recent federal survey of convicted felons put the figure at only 0.7 percent. They also claim that non-dealers should be required to conduct checks when selling guns at shows, but the legislation they support goes far beyond imposing that lone requirement. In fact, anti-gun members of Congress voted against that limited measure, holding out for a broader bill intended to drive shows out of business.
"Making guns in this country childproof." "Childproof" is a codeword for a variety of schemes designed to prevent the sale of firearms by imposing impossible or highly expensive design requirements, such as biometric shooter-identification systems. While no one opposes keeping children safe, the fact is that accidental firearm-related deaths among children have decreased 86 percent since 1975, even as the numbers of children and guns have risen dramatically. Today, the chances of a child being killed in a firearm accident are less than one in a million.
