Absolutely right! But who is it that determine what the threat is and what force will be used? Distrust in the government seems to be the common thread here.
Our military flying drones over our sovereign territory is not the concern for me. It's who is in charge of the civilian government and in turn of the military when the military is flying drones over our sovereign territory that seems to have some here concerned.
The men and women of the military is not the concern.

Old son, there are many of us on here that have been in the military. Don't be so naive as to think that something heavy handed can't be done by our government under the guise of national security. Training pilots to fly those drones is necessary and, at the same time, can be used for some rather nefarious activities under the name of "training." There is always the possibility of some governmental operation getting out of control and that could be detrimental to us all. How about "Fast and Furious?" Does that ring a bell? If something like that could happen there is always the possibility of something worse happening under our noses. That is what is meant by "...all enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC." I hate to think of it happening but, in this day and time, anything is possible.

And those answers are simply the selling points. The reality always comes later after the deal has been made. We've already given up way to much in the way of personal freedoms with the government promising not to abuse the privilege. Once they get a foot in the door the rest of the body is soon to follow.

What's next? Every new toy that some inventor comes up with, every City, County, Township State etc has to have at least a dozen of them. Who's paying for all this? We are. Can we use or own one, hell no, but we can certainly fund them for our illustrious leaders so they can play with them.
Take for example all these trailer mounted speed signs with the old Radar Detectors in them. Telling you how fast your going. Is there something wrong with your speedometer that you need a lighted sign to tell you how fast your traveling. What about the other trailer mounted signs telling you to lock your car, drive carefully or what ever cute little saying they can think up. Who's paying for those??? Now we are going to have remote controlled drones flying around; doing what???

if you distrust the government at every turn, go try china...
i'm in the military, national guard to be specific, and i can see the benefits of this. we do SAR missions after natural disasters and these could be used w/o putting human life in danger.
you (and others here) seem like the folks that would ***** at anything.

they used the predator to assist in a police ran raid...what's your point? it wasnt used to spy on folks for no reason like this thread was started about. and i'd take anything from a website like that just like i would take global warming advice from gore...
