Yes it actually really was, very polite and pleasant.
Well for what it's worth we shook hands and I told him "good job".

YOu were doing real well with this right up to the point you managed to denigrate all OCers with your final statement. Good job. :sarcastic:
I open carry all the time here in Vermont. Friggin boring.. Nobody gives a rats azz about it.
I dont know why OC is so frowned upon. In my state at least you get treated no differently than if you had no gun at all...
Open carry when you are in a civilian position, and out of uniform, is kind of stupid anyway, I think. Because You can create a justifiable panic among the consumers of the establishment You are in just with the sight of a gun in public. especially with all the media coverage of the mass shootings that have happened lately. plus you give any robber, or unknowing police officer, a FIRST target. I would reccomend to always cc to avoid panicking the public, and removing Your element of surprise in a defensive situation.
Again not to speak against open carry But I am 100% in agreement with the above.
It's my life and if I wanted you in it I'd invite you
It's funny how an anti gun person will confront a person, while they're carrying, about carrying! Haven't they heard how these guns attack people over parking
places and road rage?! I still think my EDC is lazy and/or defective. Got to get this thing fixed!
i use the shirt tail solution; if i see a group of street urchins hanging around, and i absolutely have to go near them,
my shirt tail accidently rides up over my weapon. then when they decide to go home and smoke some dope, and i
get inside the establishment, i usualy discover my exposed weapon just in time to cover it up so as not to alarm anyone.
accidental exposure has its merits.

I don't seem to have the problem. I just open carry.
I wish we could get by with that in Texas... all they have to do here is call the cops and tell them they saw a man with a gun. Then you'll get hassled by LE. It is against the law to not keep your weapon concealed... complete without printing. That being said, I've displayed mine the same way you wrote about, but just lucky enough that the guy seeing it didn't call the law... and I didn't either, because I didn't have the time to mess with the situation. You are right... "accidental" exposure has it's merits... just wish it wasn't against the law here.
I don't seem to have the problem. I just open carry.
but also don't why most who actualy do open carry are doing it. I just can't think of a situation out in the civilian world where I believe I put myself in a better position to protect myself or my family or friends with a openly displayed firearm vs a concealed one.
There is a great post somewhere which I can't find anymore that talks extensively about the advantages of open carry....
