No new Glocks in MA?

I'm a long way from MA at present, without many resources, but I'll follow up upon my return. In the meantime, Link Removed to visit that topic on the GOAL website. There is much more info on their site, including links to MGL.

Cool. I'm trying to get the MA gun laws understood at a higher fundamental level...

It requires unbelievable effort.:sarcastic: They confuse and confound...

Call gun bureau

I called and they will register ANY gun bought PERSON TO PERSON all the laws on the books pertain to FFL LICENSES that is a gun shop or sporting goods that are selling guns. As long as the gun is legally registered in Mass you should be fine but you can't buy any ssay GLOCKS from FFL licence dealers but can from private parties and they ARE legal. Call and confirm as I did.

Why the hell would you want to visit MA do you have a screw loose? I live next to it and want nothing to do with it.

Oh how I love NH, what a beautiful state. Took a moto trip up to Maine a few years ago, and I was just loving VT and NH. Rode up Mt Washington too, we actually had a somewhat clear day.....wow what a view!

Socialist health care, taxes on taxes, confusing, confounding, and unconstitutional gun laws, illegals that are not "technically illegal", and Barack Obama's aunt Zeituni... Why not come to visit?:wacko::bad:

madness in mass

Why would anyone bother with the lawful route? This state encourages you to do the wrong thing, that is just purchase in another state and take it over the line. What this state does with its regulations is not for the "safety" of the citizenry. It is done to obstruct an individuals 2nd amendment right. This is itself unlawful! When the laws are criminal, criminals become the law. At some point law abiding citizens will say enough is enough and just do what ever they want regardless of laws. After all isn't that what the pols do? Have any of the ma laws kept a criminal from getting a gun? No! The laws only keep law abiding citizens from getting these guns. And that is the states objective.

Doesn't work that way. I looked into it. If a MA resident buys a gun out of state it still would have to be shipped to a MA FFL...which would deny the transfer. Only way around it is to move in with it.

work around, solution?

so if my daughter lived in NH at school, could she buy in NH then move back to MA and sell or transfer to me?

Yup, Once she got back her MA residency she could xfer it to you and it's completely legal. Thats why I'm stocking up on stuff I like while I'm living in VA before I move back. Whats messed up is per the FRB ( I called a while back) those restrictions apply only to FFL's, So it's BS that they won't xfer them. I think it's there way of fighting the list. If we get the guns we want without them..who needs them?

messed up in MA

Talk about encouraging back room deals. If people want something bad enough they will get it one way or another. With that said MA police departments use Glocks. Good enough for them but not the people. Welcome to MA. I can't wait to move out of this state.

It's a Federal law than any interstate purchase of a pistol must be transferred via FFL's, so no you can't avoid the restrictions on banned brands.

The EOPS roster and the AG's regulations only affect what guns a MA FFL Dealer can sell in MA. You can lawfully own Glocks, but any magazines over 10 rounds capacity must be pre-ban (9-13-1994). It is easy to tell on Glock magazines, and there are pre-ban magazines on the market including in MA. Glocks manufactured before 10-21-1998 (effective date of current law) that are on the EOPS roster are commonly found in MA gun stores.

If you move to MA, you can bring your guns as long as they are locked in a suitable container. They do not have to be on the "list". You have 60 days to become licensed. Your non-resident license is void upon your relocation to MA. You have no duty to report guns that you already lawfully own. MA still has an assault weapons ban that mirrors the old Federal ban, so no guns with "evil features" unless they are pre-ban.

This is also how I understand the law to be. Keep in mind you can own any handgun you want, an FFL "mistake" is their problem, but a banned magazine is YOUR problem and you could be prosecuted for possessing a new hi-cap magazine.

Nope... Can't buy them here.. The Douc*e nozzle we have for an Attorney General here in MA has her own interpretation of the 2nd Amendment...

Only guns on the roster of approved firearms are allowed to be sold here in MA.

No Glocks, No Colts, No XD's, No Kel-Tec... Here's the list...

Absolute BS... It's the result of liberal interpretation of the Bill of Rights...

I believe these lists started with the previous attorney general. And there are two and for civilians specific models must be on both lists. For LEO's, only one. I can't keep them straight but I believe links to both lists are posted on the Four Season's (Woburn) gun shops web site.

Is this Female your wife? Or GF? If your not ball and chained already I would dump her ass and find a new one. Giving up your rights to move to PRMA(Masshole USA) sounds like your(Pu**Y whipped). What reason other then maybe jobs would you have to move to socialist USA? Higher taxes? High sales tax?Income tax?Little to no gun rights(depending on the police department)Free health care for all?High Crime?:confused::confused:
Gotta agree. By God why would anyone move to MA, NJ or NY? We're all looking to get out!

I'm confused. Doesn't the list show Glocks as approved as of March 2011 or am I reading this wrong?

I checked into this DEEPLY (multiple calls to the CHSB/FRB and MSP over the course of a week asking the same questions and checking for consistent answers) when I though this would be the year I moved back because I own newer Glocks and a Kel-Tec, Anything you move into the state with minus totally banned assault weapons are legal, and bypass the approved roster. The approved firearms roster controls what an FFL can xfer to you, NOT what your allowed to own. Once your a MA resident it's also legal to sell those guns via F2F xfer. The only exception on getting stuff into the state this way is the mags, still gotta trade in the standard cap for crippled ones but thats not that a big of a deal.

There on the list because you can still buy pre-ban Glocks mfg before 10/21/98 from an FFL. It's only the new ones that you need to get creative to get. Law Enforcement can buy current models but there usually not stocked anywhere since there the only ones that can buy them. The Firearms roster is useless because you can still get any gun you want if you look around. You'll pay a premium to get that Gen4.....but you'll get it.
