I'm also new on this board. Like GunShizzel, I moved to Alabama, but from a state even worse than Mexifornia in terms of firearms restrictions—the Soprano State (also known as the Nanny State, the Pay-to-Play State, and lately the Bankrupt State). At least in the PRC you have a chance if you live in a rural county. You have no chance in New Jersey, where the Pay-to-Play fee for CCW is very high. New Jersey might as well be Illinois.

Anyway, just reading through some threads at random has been enjoyable, so I'm glad to be here.

I live on one of the South Carolina coastal islands. I like to keep a low profile, so that is about as specific as I will get. I'm a civilian sheepdog, supporting my state and our federal constitution every chance I get.

hello everyone... i just signed up today hope i can learn from everyone here.
had my CCW for a few weeks now and i carry a Rossi model 462 .357 revolver also i am from middle georgia.

Mag pops out

Hi, I am a new member, and would like to know if anyone else has had this problem with a Walther PPK/S 380.
With a full magazine ( 7), and one in the chamber, the magazine, almost always, pops out on the first trigger pull (DA). The first round from the magazine never makes it into the chamber.
After reloading that round back into the magazine, and reinserting the mag, and racking the slide it works
most of the time through the rest of the load in the mag.
If I cock the hammer myself, on the first shot, (SA) with a full mag and one in the chamber, then things work 90% of the times.
My thumb is not near the mag release to depress it by accident.
I have tried 12 different brands of ammo, all the same.
A gunsmith has not taken the gun apart, but thinks the mag catch is good and tight.
Once the mag holds in there, after 1st shot, no problem.
I did read that new magazines ( I have 5 new, 2 old) need to be broken-in????
The PPK/S is from Interarms I bought used 6 months ago. Problem started soon after.
Another thought---Could too much slide lubrication be getting around the catch and letting it release with
the DA pull, and the shock from the first round going off.
Any ideas before I take it in for repairs, and wait and wait for parts from S&W.

Although I've visited the site before, I just joined today and wanted to say hello. I live in central Ohio, have had my CCW license since '06 and always carry. I belong to the NRA, GOA, USCCA, OFCC (Ohioans for Concealed Carry) and BFA (Buckeye Firearms Association). I hope to read and learn a lot from all of you here!

Welcome to our site from someone in Texas. My son went to Ohio State so I have have become a Buckeye fan.
