Since I am a new gun owner I occasionally find myself surfing the net on gun related topics. One of these forrays led me to this site and I felt inclined to join. I have always felt strongly about the 2nd amendment and, after my son purchased a hand gun and took me shooting, I wanted one of my own. So now my wife and I own a Smithfield XD 9mm. It seems like enough gun to protect my family with and small enough for my wife to handle easily.

Hi, I'm Jenny. I've been on here for a few weeks, but I haven't been terribly active. I recently bought a Glock 23. I'm a beginner, but it turns out that I'm actually a pretty good shot! I have a lot to learn and I'm hoping you guys might be able to help out every now and then. I'm looking for training in my area, but for the next 3 months I have to watch my money so I probably won't be able to take courses until after then. When I bought the gun I had a shooting buddy, but now I'm on my own. So, if anyone is North of Pittsburgh . . . :smile:

new to the forum

I have had my CCL for a few years, but like so many, kept it in my car. I now carry daily and find myself wanting as much info and training as I can afford. Pod casts and forums have been my non shooting intake.

Hello All from Wisconsin:

I have been reading the forum for a while and finally decided this is the right place for me. I have learned so much from you guys. Thank you! I have been familiar with guns all my life (e'hem police officer's daughter) but didn't take anything my dad taught me seriously until I had my own family. Too bad he is not alive to say... " I told you so"! I carry a Springfield XDM .45 ACP 3.8 compact and have found the most creative way not to print, even in summer and I am on the small side too.
