Florida teen killed by ccw holder

Bad shooting or not this incident is certainly being jumped on by the media, the Brady camp, & anti-gun politicians and is giving us all a "Black Eye". I hope Mr Zimmerman has concealed carry insurance as Rep Jackson (D) Fl is already calling this incident a Federal Civil Rights case.
 
Gossip? As I said repeatedly I wasn't there. I'm basing my opinion off of the news reports of their "factual" reporting. Exactly what more am I suppose to do to form an opinion? Go investigate it myself?? Not sure what more you want me to do other express an opinion based on reports I've heard just like 99.999999% of the rest of the comments on this board. Sorry that my opinion doesn't give this guy a free pass for murdering a kid based on these facts. Wanna be superhero. Yep, that's my opinion. When someone else comes forward and said this kid was a threat to them before this guy pursued him despite being told not to I'll be happy to change my mind. But a bag of skittles and gonna make me draw my gun. For those that it will, stay away from the movie theaters please. Might see some low hanging pants and dangerous m&m's.

I can't say one way or the other concerning Florida law but in Iowa once the kid turned and ran he is no longer a threat. By chasing after him this CLOWN and I do mean CLOWN became the agressor. In most states conceal carry law only protects you when your life is being threatened. Someone running away from you sure as hell is not threatening your life. This CLOWN has given all of us conceal carry holders a huge black eye.
One of the most important things you learn in any self defense course is situational awareness and not putting your self in a position of ever having to pull your weapon to begin with. This guy did everything wrong. Is shooting someone for stealing a tinket or a TV worth risking a life altering experience like this? Hell NO, even if he gets off it's going to cost him thousands of dollars and will dog him for the rst of his life. Not smart in my opinion. Be absolutley sure wqhen you draw that weapon that the reason you are doing so is absolutley worth the price you are going to pay. Because there will be a price whether you were justified or not you still pay a huge price and your life is forever changed.

Too bad people like you can only defend the rationale and sound reasoning of the pro- gun crowd by trying to label us as anything but. Talk about giving some a bad name. Its shocking that the lengths some will go to condone abhorrent behavior in the name of gun rights. Too bad you dont realize that IT'S THAT PRECISE MENTALITY AND MINDSET THAT MIGHT ULTIMATELY lose the argument for all of us.

Where did I defend anyone's rationale in my post? Seriously, please, point out EXACTLY where I did that. People like you really SUCK when you try and fail miserably to put words in people's mouth, or in this case, in a post. PLEASE highlight in my post where I CONDONED anyone's bad behavior.

I was simply pointing out the bias of the whole situation. Damn right it appears that the shooter could be wrong. If he is, I hope he get's what he deserves. But my problem is with the media and the race baiting shills pointing out ONE incident like it's a national tragedy while on the opposite end there are incidents of shootings that don't get any further than the back page of the local paper. My comments were also in regard to, and in general, how people can rush to judgement with a mob mentality about an incident in which they are spoon fed sketchy at best, one sided information. Now having said that...

Once again, I invite you to step down off your soapbox of self righteousness and point out to me where I condoned the actions of the shooter. Have a nice day, you hypocrite.
 
Maybe the forum can put this subject under every topic so we can continue to assault our intelligence with needless comments. When is enough enough--apparently never ever ever.

You are right. Shame on me for breaking my own rule for reading a thread like this. They always turn out the same. If the incident it self isn't bad enough, the way these threads play out are just as bad as they play right into their hands.
 
Let's consider the story behind the story. I imagine Zimmerman is going to be in a world of hurt in civil, if not criminal court. Still, why would a South African news service find the story fascinating? For the same reason the MSM, Al Not-so Sharp Sharpton, and the Holder-seeking family do---race. On the African and North American continents, this is just another example of drones imagining that everything is about race and racism, and believing we need our government nannies to deliver us from the bogeymen of rampant racism and race war. As though we have made no progress in race (or better, ethnic) relations? "We shall overcome?" We already have!
 
Zimmerman seems to be a wannabe Law Enforcememt Officer that has carried his actions to far for his own good or for the good of the people that he thinks that he is protecting. Neigherbhood watch people only have the same rights when they carry as any one else or that a Police Officer has when armed and can be charged the same as anyone else.
I do not have all the fact's in this case but it looks like Mr. Zimmerman may have a problem.

Nicely stated and very true. Each state has it's diffrent law's but the law of common sense never changes. Stupid is still stupid and wannabe Cop's are just that wannabe's that will be neverbe's (is that a word)

Apparently I missed the point of your post then. Because it sure appears that what your trying to say is that this whole incident is nothing more than a media based crusade against gun owners rather than calling a spade a spade which is that it seems to be very plausible that this guy was nothing but a wanna be cop who murdered a kid. If I misunderstood your post I stand corrected. As it turns out, I had a family member murdered in cold blood by an unknown person of a different race. I think if anything im anything but a hypocrit. Instead I'm more than happy to hear all sides but I'm also happy to challenge the other view points.
 
I wonder if any of the posters/postings have been reconsidered in light of information that has come to light most recently. We have NOT overcome as long as this type of thing continues.
I am most troubled by the actions of the officials in the aftermath of this tragedy.
Shouldn't the police have gone to the home of the young man, sat down, and expressed their sympathy that they'd lost a fine son?
I carry, not so I can go looking for trouble, but so that I can defend my family if and when it comes looking for me.
 
No, the Police are not able to do that they have to remain impartial no matter what they might think about the case on a personel level. As a retired Det. Sergeant with the little fact's that I have heard and or read I would fry this asswipe but again I might not have all the fact's and it might be a long time untill all the fact's are in but I still think this turd WANNABE COP is dead wrong and should fry.

This situation is RIDICULOUS! All because one yahoo out there got tons of bad press from the libs, every lemming and his brother is calling for reform to the Stand Your Ground. Now I'm not discussing the shooter whatever his motive may be, but the movement behind it. There will always be people trying to bend the law, big whoop, how bout some new news. To say that after this, they need to reform our constitutional rights is beyond ludicrous. We shouldn't have a "duty" to retreat by law, its already our duty as a CCW.

Intemparate thoughts

It would seem that Zimmerman has been convicted by the majority of respondents in here as well as in the media. Even though all the facts are still not know we have formed our opinion that Zimmerman acted unwisely. Of course that summation is made from news accounts, our personal outlook on why WE carry a gun and 911 recordings, not the facts presented by the investigators.

The race pigs (Al Sharpton) have moved into Sanford and set up the usual racial divides. All the while calling for 'special' investigations and posing the questions to cast doubt on the investigative skill of the local police department. The 'special' investigations of course will be conducted at the tax payers additional expense above and beyond the usual police operating expense.

My heart goes out to both of the young mans parents. No parent should have to bury their child. My heart also goes out to the family of Zimmermam for what they also are going through.

The single burning question of "why didn't the young man identify himself" has been swept under the rug and all guilt has been placed on Zimmerman. No culpability, from what I've seen and read, has been assigned to the victim.

I wasn't there. None of US were. But one has to wonder how the outcome would have been different if the young man had been able to tell Zimmerman where he was from and what he was doing. It seems to me that there was a clash of personalities that resulted in death.

The media has so far convinced the majority of the populace that this sad situation came to the conclusion it did only because Zimmerman had a gun and to some extent I'd agree. From what I've read regarding the wounds that Zimmerman had when police arrived, it would seem that if Zimmerman did not have his gun for self defense, he could very well have been the one killed (yes that is a jump to conclusion but hey! It seems ther's a lot of that in here).

I'm just sayin'.
