Could the 2nd Amendment be abolished?

Just curious if the 2nd Amendment could ever be abolished? Is this possible? I heard Barack ofaggot hates guns.

It would be a major undertaking to officially abolish it, since it's a part of the Constitution. However, just get one more liberal on the Supreme Court and it could easily be ignored.

It will never happen. The Goverment will never fire the CEO of GM, the president will not just sign a bunch of executive orders w/o conferring with congress and a president will never just let his grandmother die to keep her from outing him.

Nope, can't see it happening!

Lavaman, have you read the Constitution? If you have, reread Article 5, which describes the process to amend the Constitution.

If you haven't, why not? I'd assume it's still taught in most local schools in the US Government/Social Studies classes. There are plenty of resources available online as well.

There's even an app for that: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.hotrod.reference.spiritofseventysix

Excellent information my friend. Check out this quote: ". In over two-hundred years since the ratification of the Constitution, over 10,000 amendments have been proposed, while only 27 have been added."

Wooh! I can't wait until Barack Obama is out of office.

We do not have the constitution, the will and attitudes of the British, Australia nor Canada. It ain't gonna happen, mate! I reckon it has as much chance as pushing $H*T up the hill if you ask me...

You assume it is taught in most schools? I assume you are joking. I don't believe public schools have taught anything even remotely resembling the constitution for years.

That would mean we were actually educating kids. Teachers don't have time to teach this as they are forced to teach sex ed or any one of a dozen other socialist topics to continue the general populations reliance on the government.

The first Ten Amendments are the Bill of Rights on which our country was founded on, I don't think there is any changing of any of those.

I'm afraid it could. You know what they say "Never let a good crisis go to waste"

Imagine a national emergency and the government suspends this right saying it is for the protection of all citizens. They did this in New Orleans......

I'm sure there would be allot of resistance...
As my father would say. "They can pry my cold dead fingers from my gun"

Read what every one of our founding fathers wrote about guns and America, 2nd amendment protects the rest, and was important enough to them to make it the 2nd amendment. The 2nd amendment protect the people from the Government. 2nd Cold dead hands.

2nd Ammendment overturned? Nah!

On the other hand, the Libs fight the ongoing battle through restrictions, "Common sence" Gun control measures, "fringe" issues that stops the "streets from running red with blood"....... and absolutely NONE of it stops the Bad Guys from doing exactly what they please.

Which part of "shall not be infringed" is so difficult to understand?
