One would assume the following chain of causality: investigating white collar crime -> receiving threats from those being investigated -> considering carrying a concealed weapon to defend oneself from those being investigated.

I guess. It is NJ. Only criminals own firearms there.

I deny millions of dollars of claims they submit as claims. These docs all are very affluent and think they can get away with anything

Aaahhhh. Thank you and now I understand why you'd want to exercise your 2A rights. Can you deny these claims from a bunker in Vermont? JK☺️

Sincere best of luck. I think if I remember correctly there were under 5000 permitted citizens in NJ. Hope they do what they should be required to do by the Constitution some day but in the meantime I hope they just issue a permit to you.

One could wonder what you did the past 50 years when you just discovered that you can't get a concealed carry permit in NJ. Caring about your rights only when you actually need them is exactly the apathy of the people that led to this sad state of affairs. Now, that you want to invoke a right that has been legislated away in the past decades you finally wonder what to do about it. Now, it is too late. You will likely never get a concealed carry permit in NJ. You can choose to live with the choices of the people of your state or move.

The NRA-ILA really doesn't care. The NRA is not an organization that helps individuals. It is a lobbying organization that is mostly after your money to pay for political propaganda and executive salaries. In my town, Knoxville, TN, the NRA settled on a lawsuit against the city because "the NRA was running out of money for the case". The lawsuit was about the city violating the "guns in parks" state law and restricting the carrying of firearms in a city park. The city is continuing to violate this law with the blessing of the NRA.

I know a bit about the amount of insurance fraud that is going on in the Healthcare industry. I certainly can imagine that you fear that one of those fraudulent doctors that bills the insurance company for services that don't exist can come after you when they get caught.
