I miss the 300 baud modem days. That, and begging local rich people to host a BBS close by. Had a fierce ground loop that affected voice communications, and caused my modem to try out. I got hold of a regional engineer in Kansas City after I got the run around from the local flunkies. I sent pics from my o-scope and an audio cassette tape to the engineer, and he promptly had the flunkies replace my drop, and ground box outside. Problem solved.

Remember one thing, children.. I didn't start this.....I came here with the idea to share a common interest. only to be called all kinds of names right after I introduced myself.... I offered nothing but friendly credentials to which I was called a liar,, Old... senile. etc. the idea was that several of the same bullies eluded to the fact that I was not who I said I was.. calling me, in so many words a Liar... as If a retired combat veteran would never come to this forum... I offered 50 years of combined military and civilian weapons experience to which I was greeted with the same disrespect and accusations. Oh and BTW I also said I was very sick.. I have advanced stage cancer... I also an retired Military with a disability. I was effected by Agent Orange and am still being treated for it.. to which I was again called a lair... as if No one ever contracted agent Orange, and contracted Cancer from it... Nothing Ive found here but disrespect and venom... You guys can hang on to this sad an pathetic forum all you want because apparently its all; you have... Ive just been screwing around with you, because you deserve it... I found out in less then a week that this was the boys club it was advertised to be.

While it is an honorable thing to have been in the military... seen and done some things that other people cannot even imagine could happen... don't for a minute think you are the only one or that all of those things mean others should bow down to you. The greatest men, yes MEN!, I've ever known saw and did some horrific things yet they rarely spoke of it and then only to others who had been there and done that but they never bragged about it nor did they expect everyone else to bow down to them in adoration for what they did.
And while I understand how difficult it is to deal with a life threatening disease some of those greatest MEN I mentioned suffered severe injuries yet they didn't expect to get some kind of preferential treatment ... or even sympathy... because of it. They certainly didn't expect, or want, others to instantly realize they were a hero because real heroes... real MEN... don't have an "I'm better than you and you need to give me the respect I think I deserve." attitude.
And what did you do when you didn't get the hero worship and sympathy you think you deserve? You started playing a kids game of instigating arguments while accusing everyone else of being children.
Well.... do you not realize that real MEN don't pout and play childish games?
Now.... it sucks to have gone and put your life on the line only to end up with cancer. Guess what? When you went to war you knew you were putting your entire future, your body, and possibly would make the ultimate sacrifice of losing your life on the battlefield. Well.... a bullet didn't get you but the war still did and you also suffered a horrific injury that caught up to you later. So it is up to you to be a man and understand that and take it for what it is.... or get all whiny and pissy resorting to playing kids games to soothe your ego and justify (to yourself) having a "poor me" attitude.
Having said all of that I am sorry that you are suffering from cancer and I respect your service to this great country... but because of what your postings on this forum expose about your immature, mean, and spiteful, attitude I have very little respect for you. Even so... you are now in my prayers.

Preferential treatment?????? All I wanted was someone to welcome me... at my gun club their are hundreds of disabled veterans... we are brothers in Arms...and we share our nightmares because no one else understands... I was hoping to meet other combat veterans here... I was not bragging about anything... I was just introducing myself... What's to brag about ?? when I returned from South East Asia in the late 60's I landed in my home town airport and was spit on and called a baby killer..... 50 years later I came here and found almost the same thing... Brag ???? I've yet to be greeted with a welcome here.
But the good News is Ive realized that this forum offers me little so rather then amping up this forum...I'm not going to play any more,,, its boring after three months... If I see a thread or a post where I have something to say that is my opinion.. I might post a comment... I spend about 20 minutes here in the course of my day.. I have other forums that are productive and fun... while shooting and weapons have been part of my life for 50 years , I cant find a gun forum where there isn't any posturing.. in my other forums some people come in.. they are the minority...90 % of the members of my 2 automotive forums the photographic forums and the wrist watch and clock forum are all interested in attracting new members, with about 10 % asssholes coming and going.. its the other way around in these gun forums... IM done with the toying.

Maybe, but there are many variables. A robber may pass up the area if there is an OC. They are after money or valuables. They do not want to be shot. The noise of a gunfight is going to attract 911 calls and the police. What if there are several OCs in the area?
A CC may be able pull a gun if the robber is distracted in some way.
Whether you are OC or CC if the robber is already pointing the gun, the better option may be compliance, especially if innocents could be hit by your or the assailant in a gun battle. Both you and assailant may fire several rounds after being hit.
There are many OCers and CCers here who get defensive if someone gives an argument for an alternate choice. How or whether you choose to carry is your choice for the reasons you select. No choice fits every scenario best.

Maybe he was just looking for various opinions. Oh no! maybe he was OCing when an armed robbery happened and he was the first one shot; or maybe he was caught in the crossfire between a militant OC and militant CC, while the robber calmly collected the cash and walked away.
