Smoking Pot and Carrying Concealed... not so sure it's wise

Umm....I don't recall you ever saying that you're from Alabama, and you know the history.

Actually, I liked it because it was historically accurate, that's all. To be fully historically accurate in the above post, you'd have to say that I'm from California, which is one of the accomplishments in life I am most proud of.

Kind of a weird reply to a simple "Like." Would you rather I didn't like your posts?

Hey folks...here's some future gun owners...they are getting an early start.

When I graduated high school most of the kids were sneaking booze in the back doors of parties and lots of driving home drunk on Friday and Saturday nights. So what?

Pot heads and gun unreal , but a pot head running this country is really bad just look around @ what is going on ! Even the cizzy pothead can se that , maybe not will se after this post !

This has gotten way off track with personal attacks and name calling.

The original question was is it wise to conceal carry and smoke pot. I believe the answer is a resounding NO. That said if it's legal to smoke pot in the state you live in (just like having a beer) you should be allowed to partake and receive a permit. It should be treated like alcohol. Have the permit, but don't carry while under the influence.

If the truth were known, likely 85-90% of Americans have tried pot at some time in their lives. Many of them have gone on to live happy highly productive lives. They've become an asset to the nation and their communities.

Further, I don't feel any decision should be made retroactive. The article doesn't delineate that, but they knew marijuana was illegal (before). If they were caught and convicted before it was legalized, they shouldn't be issued a permit. It's still a conviction.

People who use marijuana today are still doing so in violation of Federal law regardless of what state they live in. In some states the Federal government has only promised not to prosecute the illegal use.

Eric Holder Says DOJ Will Let Washington, Colorado Marijuana Laws Go Into Effect

DOJ is reserving its right to file a preemption lawsuit at a later date, since the states' regulation of marijuana is illegal under the Controlled Substances Act.

It's been over 30 yrs. ago, but yes I've been there done that. It's just not my thing. Although, I've become good friends with Mr. Jack Daniels over the years, I don't care for Scotch (the same way that I don't care for pot). This is my take on the Pot/Alcohol debate. They should both be legal and used in responsible moderation. JMHO

Don't know if you ever smoked pot, but a few beers is not going to allow you to get out of control. Pot will do that. The psychoactive ingredient...THC...cause all sorts of problems, and believe me once it begins you will not get back in control until the effects wear off. The worst of the effects are paranoid delusions. They can nearly mimic schizoid delusions. Potheads on this forum, already outting themselves, will clearly defend their demons even to the detriment of others. If you want to legalize drugs start with cocaine or even speed...at least the effects of those drugs are not hallucinogenic. Okay potheads blow some more smoke up each others butts...but you cannot say I am wrong. If you do please cite your sources...and not some other pothead pal of yours opinion...that is not source man...you know what I mean man...really groovy man.

There is not one pot smoker alive, if they are honest, will say they have never experienced an adverse psychological reaction to THC.

Could someone in the "illegal" camp please show me/us where in the Constitution, and the BOR, where the federal govt has the power to make a substance or a plant "illegal".....

You took the words right out of my mouth Axeanda45! I was just gonna post something similar

Sent from my SM-N900V using USA Carry mobile app

6 pages and over 50 posts. All because people think it's debatable to mix dope and guns. I actually thought all gun owners were much smarter than that. Just goes to show you what I know.

I am sorry, my google-fu isnt working very well today.... I tried (because it is related, just switch alcohol with maryjane) to find all the dead and maimed bodies and terror stories from the states that allow you to *GASP* drink while armed...... (no specific law against drinking while armed) couldnt find a one.... How about all the terrible accidents and mayhem caused by people driving under the influence of that horrible pot? Nope, couldnt find any..... I need more practice or something..... OR.... things like that just arent that much of a problem... No, couldnt be that, right?

I personally can't, and don't care when or where it became illegal. I don't even have to agree with it. The fact that it is now is what's relevant.

Most of us are :-) There seems to be a few that think it'd be just fine.

I suggest you do some research about the Constitution and what a REAL "Law" consists of... and WHAT THE SUPREME COURT has said about UnConstitutional "laws".... Google it and get an education.....

Spoken by someone who has no CLUE what RIGHTS are, and is 100% fine with others RIGHTS being infringed upon just because they dont like something (agree with that particular infringement), even though NO GOVT has the power to INFRINGE on RIGHTS.... (even though they do all the time)
