I think that's the progressive media seizing any opportunity to harm gun rights. Is it just me, or does there seem to be way too much emphasis placed on open carry in the news headlines?

The department has not described exactly how the thief made off with the gun.
The officer took his belt off to use the bathroom, and when he went to put it back on, the gun was missing.
Or for cops. How many cops been shot with their own gun? I would think more than civilian OCer's.Link Removed
I wonder if I should start a new thread for each conceal carrier that gets chosen as a victim...a new thread every single day...

Would you add those threads to the thousands of posts on the open carry forums about open carriers experiencing nothing but positive reactions (or none at all) during their days of routinely carrying?
I'm not lumping cops with OCer's. Not my intent. I think more cops lose their weapon than civilians.Same with non carriers. How many non carriers look like concealed carriers and get shot?
Does lumping cops with open carriers open up lumping non carriers with concealed carriers?

Do you think more cops are shot with their own weapon than civilians who OC?I lumped OC'ers with cops because, well, cops OC more than any other group in the world. They OC rifles, shotguns and pistols, and fewer of them die than any other group in America than maybe military personnel. Non-badged citizens die from violence committed with guns at many times the annual rate of cops, and yet cops harass and pull guns on OC'ers every day of every year and then come to forums like this and tell us how "unsafe" it is to OC. They're not only hypocrites, but they're the main reason it's "unsafe" to OC if there's any validity to that claim to begin with! Well, them and the CC-only tools that are out there in overwhelming abundance too.

Yes.
Where is the coorelation between OC and this statement?

I was reading in some open carry forum- sub category St. Louis. A thread that is a couple years old. A man called around to the PD of every town that allowed OC (back when more towns allowed OC - which as of Oct 2014, all formerly OC restricted, are now "unrestricted" if you CCL) - and 95% of the responses were- basically- 1) this is legal but its strongly advised against 2) This will cause a major disturbance- and will cause many people to call us 3) We will/might write a summons for disturbing the peace.
He called almost 30 PDs.
