Dumb Advice

Buy her a gun "they" said.......
She will get used to it "THEY" said......
And now she can outshoot me...... FML!!

The good news is that as long as we have the $$ for the new gun, it can come home without complaint. That and if I pass away young, she wont sell them for less that what they are worth, instead of what I lied about paying for them :D

Oh...well blues changed :)... and it fits in with this thread perfectly being some of the dumbest advice I've heard...:)

I changed too, for a long time I carried concealed while legal to do ether, then one day I though screw it and to hell with anybody that don't like it, been open ever since, so I guess one can change but you would never know that going by these threads on this forum, but I will say this unless required by law I don't ever see going back to concealed,

You mean...this tool?!

He is a tool...but how could our Rights have eroded this bad if citizens didn't care? It's sad...but it's true...Most people don't care enough to remember the entirety of the first two amendments.

But for those of us who DO care, it does not mean that the POS in office or even the multiple POS's in congress have the authority to strip the Rights from us.
If some decide that they may be better off under the protection of the gubment and choose to forgo the Rights they are born with...so be it.
Leave my Rights the hell alone though! I do not relinquish my Rights to anyone, least of all the POS's in office,

When I was new to carrying, my older brother told me that inside the waistband (no holster) with no round chambered was the best way to carry.

Howdy,

Great answer! Now that covers it all, stupid, funny, and dangerous!!

You do realize that Obama is the only POTUS to sign into law a Pro-Gun Federal Law and the only POTUS since Carter that has NOT signed an Anti-Gun Federal Law or regulation, right.

Obama signed into law allowing US Citizens that have a CCW permit to carry concealed in National Parks.

To me this is very important because I live in the Hot Springs National Park area and routinely drive through the NP.

Also I have visited numerous NP down through the years including Gettysburg NP on Memorial Day.

Here's a pic of myself at Gettysburg NP:

It's kinda "concealed" by the big freakin' gun ( no pun intended ) but I'm carrying a Glock 23 .40S&W OWB @ 3:00 in a Glock sport holster.

On Wednesday the 28th we went to Mannasses NP and visited Bull Run Battlefield.

Since the law went into effect I have legally CCW in over 10 NPs. Up to that point I either didn't carry or did it illegally.

Thank you President Obama and a Democrat controlled Congress.

You could easily pass for one of my cousins, at least with the sunglasses on anyway.

I'm glad I can honestly refrain from saying that. I'd hate to have to disown my cousin!

What's on the outside isn't necessarily a reflection of what's on the inside.

Well, it was just a joke, but if I had to be reminded of ol' Stenchgun every time I saw my cousin, that's where the joke was coming from. Guess it was a lousy joke if I had to explain it. Oh well.

1. Be realistic about your ability to protect yourself.
2. Your instinct may be to scream, go ahead! It may startle your attacker and give you an opportunity to run away.
3. Kick off your shoes if you have time and can’t run in them.
4. Don’t take time to look back; just get away.
5. If your life is in danger, passive resistance may be your best defense.
6. Tell your attacker that you have a disease or are menstruating.
7. Vomiting or urinating may also convince the attacker to leave you alone.
8. Yelling, hitting or biting may give you a chance to escape, do it!
9. Understand that some actions on your part might lead to more harm.
10. Remember, every emergency situation is different. Only you can decide which action is most appropriate.

None of the University of Colorado’s advice mentions legally obtaining a firearm and the necessary training, even if just for home defense.

LOL! Sorry I didn't get it. I'd blame it on the pain meds but I ran out days ago.

I remember this "advice" from school too, and aggressive resistance is never really covered as an option at all, except for hitting and biting. (Which would just make me angrier if I was the attacker) With advice like this its no wonder that the people who abide by it are constantly scared, geez.

Cleaning a gun with urine in the absence of solvent was some of the stranger suggestions I have heard. Dont know if its legit or not.

I don't think it's that people don't care about their rights I think too many don't know what their rights are because it's not being taught in schools and older generations are not educating their young. We have become complacent and really haven't had to defend our rights until this century. Govt has been ever so slowly eroding our rights over the last 20 or 25 years many people didn't notice or complain too much but now with this marxist muzslum enemy in the Outhouse it has become readily apparent what the motives are.

To me...You just defined the People not caring about there Rights. They didn't care enough to teach it, they didn't care enough to pass it down to their children, they didn't care enough to say no at the first unconstitutional law, they didn't care enough about their Rights to realize they needed to be defended from the beginning, not at the end.

Completely and totally off topic, but I couldn't help but be reminded of some other 'dumb advice' from school. Who remembers duck and cover? Yeah, right. Like a school desk is gonna save me from a nuclear blast.
.
Okay. Back to topic.
