*'Stand Your Ground' Hearing Could Clear Zimmerman*

zimmerman

"africans"..... that scares me. I saw a mix of blacks and whites in the marches. I lived ten years in Chicago and ten in Boston. Just moved down here to Orlando to get away from the snow. When I walked into the police station to register my gun, I was told I didn't have to. Nor did I need anything if I leave the gun in the car. As long as I had to perform two actions to get to it. I was shocked. That's when he said, "Welcome to the south."

I'm a WOP. You smile when you call me WOP. I can imagine what it's like to be black. So, if they were both black or white, what would have happened? Would it had gone this far?

Yeah, welcome to the south.

You can always go back to Chicago or Boston if you think the south is so bad.
As far as you calling yourself a "wop", I don't think you should be so hard on yourself. I'm sure you have a drivers license, birth certificate, and a social security card. That's all you need and you will have your papers.
And I think your all mixed up. Just a few years ago, the "blacks" preferred to be called Africans. No wait, it was African Americans. I find it hard to keep up with all the changes.
I would like to know why you used "blacks and whites" in these marches you were talking about instead of just saying I saw all these people. And by the way, I don't like being called
"White" this decade, I like being called
"Cracker".

He did a reenactment for the police without a lawyer. He called the DA. He went on TV and locked himself into a story. He talked on a jailhouse phone. He's an idiot.

Yep, but Trayvon was no genius either.

Trayvon Martin physically assaulted an innocent man and then proceeded to repeatedly bash the man's head into the concrete.
Now I don't know about you, but if someone who is physically stronger than me attacked me and then started bashing my brains into the concrete, I can assure you that I would also use deadly force to defend myself.

So imho, Trayvon Martin was also acting like an idiot on that night...
Now he's a 'dead' idiot.

That's the factual issue. Who was the aggressor? "Stand your ground" doesn't mean A can confront B then shoot B when B defends himself by whatever means he might have.

From what I've seen of the evidence in a jury trial I don't think the state will be able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Zimmerman was the aggressor, although if the state gets in any of his pre-trial statements he may have to take the stand to "explain" them, and then it will be a simple matter of his credibility before the jury.

I think a lot of people underestimate the damage a blow to the back of the head can do.
There's a reason it is illegal in MMA and boxing - where combatants are wearing gloves.
Imagine getting your head bashed into the ground!

Most places ban rabbit punches. The ones that don't will probably be sued and go out of business. Some of you might find this interesting...it only takes about 15 pounds of force to the chin knock someone out.

I think Zimmerman is an idiot. He definitely escalated the situation. In WI, he'd already be convicted. Not saying our court system isn't rigged...

That is the most ass backwards interpretation of this case...lol

What makes it legal for B to start bashing A's head into the ground for a simple question? When does it become right to use physical violence instead of answering the man's question? I hope you don't have kids. You're a terrible role model.

Are you going to call me racist for not being on Martin's side? Ask me what side I'm on. Do it!

Glad to hear you have all the facts. You should call his lawyers and tell them they have to put you on the stand!

What makes you think that all he did was ask a question? Oh, you didn't think. You just made it up.

True. When two idiots cross paths look what can happen.

The Stand Your Ground element in this incident is not at the point of the initial contact, but when Martin used deadly force by punching Zimmerman in the face while he was on the ground, with his head against the concrete. That created the unequal and unnecessary force level that could cause death or serious bodily injury to Zimmerman by Martin, and the fear of Zimmerman that his gun, which he had not introduced into the situation, was now available to Martin brought about Martin's demise.

Me thinks Attorney Crump and the family know that is what will decide the case, both the Stand Your Ground and Self Defense.

So Zimmerman escalated it? At what moment do you get to use deadly force...do you need to wait until you see the bright light...do you need to wait until you see all your dead relatives...how much of your life do you need to see flash before your eyes? Insanity!!! Are some of you suggesting that Martin had the upper moral authority to kill Zimmerman because Zimmerman followed him. If Zimmerman is convicted it will be a very sad day for that "inalienable right to life". Zimmerman clearly made some bad decisions...but shooting Martin was the only smart decision he made that night. In Virginia if you are part of the provocation you are required to retreat until retreat is no longer an option. I think getting your skull fractured no longer offers options to retreat. Let the race riots begin if that is what needs to happen.

What we have is a classic battle of the dipsticks
Problem is that the prosecution's case is starting to unravel...The teenage girl on the phone lied under oath and the prosecution admitted it.
Now that is an interesting turn of events sports fans.
If the star witness for the prosecution who is 19 BTW not 16 as reported in the MSM lied under oath, it is going to make it that much harder to convict Mr. Zimmerman

Yes it will make it much harder.

Once a jury has found that a person has lied under oath, they can disregard all of the testimony. The jury doesn't have to try to determine what other parts are lies and what other parts are true.

But they can believe the other parts.

wrong

Do a little more homework. GZ did NOT continue to follow Martin. He got out of his car & tried to see where TM was heading; so he could reprt it to 911.

TM cut down between the town houses & back tracked. After GZ lost sight of Travon, GZ was retreating to his car just like the 911 operator told him to. It was TM that cut GZ's plath of retreat off and initiated the confrontation when GZ was returning to his car!

you are wrong, sir you listen to the media to much... but you are full of it....he was told to NOT to follow tm. and he didn't do that..you need to get your story right...

About getting stories straight....

Dispatcher: Are you following him?
Zimmerman: Yeah
Dispatcher: Ok, we don't need you to do that.
Zimmerman: Ok
-snip-

Now... exactly where did the dispatcher tell Zimmerman NOT to follow Martin? The dispatcher only said that they (the police) do not NEED him to do that. The dispatcher did NOT say anything remotely like... don't do that.. or... stop following him...or.... do not follow him....

However... if folks want to say that the words of "we don't need you to do that" carries the implication of the words 'don't do that' then Zimmerman's response of "Ok" implies Zimmerman agreed to stop following Martin.

More about Zimmerman being told by a police dispatcher the police don't need him to follow Martin...........

Sanford city manager says police were barred from arresting Trayvon Martin?s killer | The Lookout - Yahoo! News

The letter goes on to address several other issues related to the case. Bonaparte writes that Zimmerman's failure to obey a 911 dispatcher's request that he not follow Martin can be taken into account in the ongoing investigation, but adds that the request "is not a lawful order that Mr. Zimmerman would be required to follow."

Bold added by me for emphasis.

The following is a general comment not directed at any individual(s)....

I do not understand the logic of folks thinking Martin was justified in bashing Zimmerman's head against the ground (basically using the ground as a deadly weapon) just because Zimmerman was following Martin.

If folks want to use the logic that if Zimmerman hadn't followed Martin nothing would have happened then that same logic says that if Martin had stayed inside and not gone out that evening nothing would have happened. That logic is flawed and using it against one person and not the other suggests a prejudiced perspective.

you guys should read the data dump by sanford pd. it is very long but worth it for the perspective. it shows the original witness statements that were all recanted. it also shows that those stories all changed and now no longer match as much of the content did prior to the recanting...just saying...

wtf is a wop???
Wop is a derogatory term for Italians. It was used at Ellis Island as a shorthand meaning for "WithOut Papers". Because so many that came thru there had no papers to show that they had things like a sponsor.

I'll be damned. I was raised by a Sicilian mother yet never knew that was where it came from (but I do understand the whole vendetta thing... :triniti: )
