Thanks Shoobee, I understood your reply except for the Quakers and conscientious objectors part. Do you mean if someone is in the position of having to defend theirself against a human or miscreant. Maybe they have an attack like an earthquake, knees and hands start shaking. Funny how the movies never show us this side of the coin.

Well there are some people all around the world who cannot defend themselves, and who think it is wrong to do so. Some of these folks are extreme pacifists. Some of these folks are due to their religious beliefs that they have been raised with. Some of these folks are just extremely fragile people and they cannot lash out no matter what. There are all kinds of people on Gods Green Earth.

Before you allow the differences of opinion, and the back and forth bickering to detour you from the information you request and need, STOP. Let's go back to the basics. Why not tell us what 2 most valuable pieces of advice you have read here. I was a LEO for 26 years. I retired in 1996, and still shoot and train. I am no different than many of the other posters I have read here. Our first concern is that you get good advice and good information. Some of the advice I have read will only get you hurt. That is not why you asked, and that is not why we answered.

Actually you are way different JJW.

You have great training and tons of actual experience with perps.

There is no doubt in your mind or anybody else's that you would shoot to kill.

That's a big difference.

Most people do not realize this takes extensive training and mental conditioning.
