Same here and they have been asking a question just like when that CO guy went in the movie theater, "Where were God when this was happen". I think that like it been said we haven't seen nothing yet.

Link Removed has a story most have not heard today. 2 dozen students injured in China by a man with a knife. I will give MSNBC credit for having a former FBI profiler on today who said while he doesn't think most people need guns, it isn't the gun itself that is the problem and he pointed to the Chinese attack as proof.

So it's not important to you if they were just maimed instead of killed.
What about the ex school board member that set off three bombs in a school in 1927? the way kids treat their teachers nowadays, i could see it happening. And how about that nutback "teacher of the year" that was caught running naked through an apartment complex? How close do you think he'd be to just unloading a magazine into his students?
Is this the same background check that is so often not done, thus allowing sex offenders to work as teachers?
My point is that anybody - even teachers - even *you* - could just decide on a whim that everyone around them has to die.
If they have the same credentials I do, and they're subject to the same laws I am, let 'em carry.
Having had a top secret clearance (that is still active), and a CHL, I seriously doubt they've been screened anywhere close to how heavily I have been.

Why should teachers be less accountable than "civilian" CHL holders? That's like saying school board members are allowed to carry in official functions, but attendees aren't.

I just want our kids to be protected. They make us jump through hoops when we fly - our children deserve more than that. I just wish there were armed security / police on the sight so that he never was able to get in. Also, to those people who want to take our legal guns away from us - they weren't his. Keep your guns safe. Only you should be able to use them.

I had posted this before and was ridiculed for it but I still feel that, like teachers in Israel the teachers in America should be able to be armed if they request it and as far as schools being gun free zones, it only leaves them open to happenings like this. If a few teachers here had been armed maybe a few children and adults would be alive today.
Think about this, concerning gun free zones. In the movie theater shooting, there were 7 other theaters, 5 closer to where the shooter lived and these 7 theaters weren’t gun free zones, the only theater that was a gun free zone was the one he went to, kind of makes you think why the shooter chose the only one that was a gun free zone doesn’t it?

This is a tragedy beyond words. We must never forget that we live in a world where evil exists and bad things do happen to the good and innocent. Some people are mislead into thinking that by banning inanimate objects or passing crazy laws that evil will go away. They could not be more mistaken. The only thing this will accomplish is to provide an endless supply of innocent victims. We must always be vigilant and protect our loved ones and each other as best we can. Everything else is in God's hands. My condolences to those family's that were forever changed by today's tragedy.
BTW, I would be willing to bet that this guy was on Prozac or some other mind altering drug.

Good lord ... what the heck is happening to this planet ... cannot imagine what the parents of these children are going through.
But I can imagine this -
I can imagine being asked to represent my most dearly held beliefs about gun rights and self-defense before a gathering of the parents of these kindergartners, all of us sitting in a room festooned with photos of their lost four and five year-olds. I can imagine them looking me dead in the eyes, having no preconceived notions about what I might say, just politely waiting to hear me pontificate about how the Second Amendment protects my right to own my M4 and a couple thousand rounds of ammunition.
I imagine leaving without uttering a word.
It's not fair, in fact it's an unspeakable shame - 80 million of us didn't do this. But WTF are we supposed to say to these people, and millions of like-minded others all over the country?
The sicko murdering cowards like this perp today are destroying us. We are sinking into the ocean, even while legislation in some parts of the country (Illinois, for one) seems to suggest we're making progress.
I can multitask - I can feel anguish and pray for these children and parents, while feeling real despair about our own diminishing liberties. I'm almost out of gas, out of hope.

You have no idea what it's like to bury a murdered child and then have some one spout this crap about it being a government conspiracy that your child was ripped apart by some mentally unstable person. The government and anti-gun movement has no motive to murder our children. Only a mentally unstable person does such a thing. While I agree with your statements about the decay of government and society as a whole, don't talk to me about reality. I AM REALITY. You go out to the cemetary, dig up what's left of my little guy and tell HIM about reality. You tell my wife who cries herself to sleep about reality. See, you get to go to bed tonight and move on with your life. I'll probably be up with my wife tonight as it all came back today. I expect the nightmares will recur tonight. Her doctor stopped by and gave her Xanax and Zoloft to help get her settled. She's been saying "it's just like Brian was killed all over again today." She can't stop crying. See, when you've picked-up your child with 22 stab wounds to his face, neck, chest and genitals... when you've held your thumb in the hole in his chest to stop the bleeding... when he cries, coughs, chokes and spits the life out of him in your arms you'll be as offended as I am at these insensitive comments. You'll never be able to get that picture out of your head no matter how much therapy you have. Good God I pray you never get to understand what I'm trying to say. Hold those kids close tonight. My posts were not intended to offend. This is a very bad day for us. She's fallen asleep now. We're being extra quiet not to wake her. I've been looking at Brian's picture on the wall. All night. Once I was alone I couldn't help but finally break down. Can't let the family see that. have to remain strong for everyone. It took 10 years before my wife could look at his pictures because every time she did all she could see was the slices in his throat. I know exactly what's going on in those families' homes tonight. There will be plenty of time for the arguments to come. For now please pray for these families. The good news today was that my wife's friend Tara's kids no longer went to that school. We weren't sure for a while if they were still students there. They've moved on to middle school.

Ironically, IL ruled in favor of the right to carry just yesterday so Rahm Emanuel will be weighing in as well. The sad part is that Eric Holder's botched fast-n-furious resulted in ten times the number of casualties in Mexico. He was protected by a B.S. executive order.

My prayers are with everyone who lost a loved one today, especially those who lost a child!!
As others have said, the real problem is with the values of society, the low value placed on LIFE!! After this horrific act we will see many religious service/funerals and memorials with various religious on the school grounds; however, once the immediate tragedy passes, God will again be banned from this school!!! There IS a direct relationship to the continuing lowering of the value of life and the banning of God in our schools and society in general!!
Again, my prayers are with the victims and their families!!
