Yes but I believe the average person does not want to play Dirty Harry with a big bore. They want something concealable that they can handle easily. Out of about 12 people I know who carry only one carries a .40 the rest are .380, .38, and 9mm with a .32 in there also.

I believe that the .32 acp is becoming more popular again. Since I bought one it seems I meet more and more people who own them.

9mm, I either carry a Glock 17 or 19 with two backup magazines. When I'm carrying my 17 with one in the pipe that's 52 rounds of 147 grain jhp, if the sh!t really hits the fan I want to be able to maintain my capacity to defend myself as long as possible.

Good choice, but dont forget even being a Glock and the chance of it screwing up are low, it would be a safe idea to carry a bug, it could be anything, and honestly any caliber, as long as its dependable,

I like my XDS.45 ACP when I wanna carry in warmer weather. Sig P229 .40S&W (old school, not the new model with extractor issues) in colder weather. Federal HSTs, 230 gr in .45 and 155 gr in my Sig.

Had previously said my 9mm .. because I don't have a .45 yet ....... Like I said .. "yet" ... Just got a Kimber Ultra CDP II in .45 ACP. What a sexy gun and will absolutely be my carry ... I know others have had a problem with it feeding. No issues yet. I had one fail to feed when I was putting it into battery with Gold Dot hollow points ... It was on me for releasing the slide too gently. I pulled the slide and let it go and no issues since ...

Have actually been carrying a .380 and at times a .32 and feel both will do the job. I know, americans are of the idea that if you don't blow a huge hole in someone it won't stop them. Well how many of you have had a round or two in center mass from a .380 or .32?

45 ACP for me. My dad was a cop and I have shot his glock 23 and 27 (.40), 38 special and 357 magnum and most recently his 9mm shield. All are great guns. I have shot my bothers Sig P229 (.40). All I can say is I shoot my Glock 30 (.45 ACP) way more comfortably and, more importantly, accurately than all those other guns.

.45 ACP during the "hot months" and .40 during the fall/winter. Just because my P229 isn't exactly the most concealable pistol sans layers of clothes. My little XDS though, whew, IWB holster no one can tell except a LEO looking VERY carefully. I won't go below .40 because I've seen what a .380 does...not a whole lot. And a 9mm, wouldn't even try it. If a BG is so much as clipped by a .45 ACP HST +P 230 gr. round, that scumbag will be on his ass in no time flat
