Every gun and every type of ammo is a compromise of some sort. But generally I like 9mm as the best all-around.

Oh yea my Sig P226 9mm was (sold it) the most accurate pistol I've ever shot but I don't trust the 9mm round, especially if someone is like 275 lbs and on bath salts or PCP. I'm a huge Sig fan, looking at picking up a P220R Carry if I can find one for $700 or less (CPO is fine w/ me) or a P245 (even more rare). My P229 in .40 is extremely accurate. I go with .40S&W w/ 155 gr. HSTs in my P229 DA/SA or my .45 ACP.

I have sold more LC9s in 2012 then anything else. Now evry thing is flying off the shelf. My CHL Classes fill up in minutes.
I recomend revolvers if you shoot little. Semi's if you practice lots. I have my own range and i carry a full size 1911 owb. I can carry any thing I want but in my opinion it is still the best

Absolutly on the 1911.................

From the people I see at the range and elsewhere the calibers most people carry are .380 .38 and 9mm although it seems like a fair amount also use .32 acp

:pleasantry:

It does appear there are quite a few that prefer the smaller calibers. I've always shot the big bores myself. 40 cal and up.

C, love my Glock 33 .357 SIG. Also have barrels for 9mm and .40. which fit the 33.

Would be nice to have a LCP that held 5 rds of .50 cal. This is not feasible of course, but could sure ensure who won the battle.

Smith & Wesson FS M&P .40 caliber with either 165 Golden Saber or 155 Winchester Silver tips.
On light clothing days, I like the 135 grain rounds from CorBon.

ETA: I carry a full sized duty weapon from when I wake up until I lay down to sleep, 365/24/7.
The the .40 cal and the Ruger P95 go under the pillow. One on each side of my head (safeties on).
Crazy yes but at least I'll be asleep if I go!

That's me for sure. I'm strapped from pants on till pants off. Then with in arms reach all night, with my Rem 870 in the corner.

.40 its big enough to stop andyone dead in tracts but by my firearm its smaller then most 45's physical size thinner amd shoeter and easier to hide I've found

Is that a S&W40VE? I have one and after a little trigger work it shoots great and the trigger is smooth as glass. After 2000+ rounds have yet to have one failure to fire, eject or feed and has a good combat accuracy.

Yeah I just it I love it shoots great not one problem so far minus minor rust on a brand new gun but

What kind of work did you do? I like the extra creep. The length of pull seems just right for my hands.

Try wiping down the slide with synthetic cleaner. i give mine a new coat about once a week and it's still as shiny as day one. Never seen rust on a stainless steel slide before. Got a pic?
