Carried my Ithaca 1911A1 military for many years. (I got to old or it got to heavy)

Now carry a Walther PPQ in 9mm with a Theis IWB holster. (not on list)

For summer and discreet carry a Sig p238 with a Remora pocket holster.

For home defense a sig p220 elite in 45 cal. also a Rem. 870 20g

Depends on what you mean. The most carried civilian caliber is the 22lr. As far as the firearm that is a crap shoot at best as it depends on two things what you like and shoot well or what you have. I carry USP FS .45. I used to carry a 1911 years ago but when the USP came out and I got my fist one and realized not only how well it functioned but also the reliability and the accuracy I was hooked. My daughter shot my fs so much she to got one but later switched to a compact usp. Let us not forget this poll like other depends on those of us active in the forums and talking about it. The majority of those who carry never tell anyone they do so or chat about it.
