I just don't understand what is wrong with people that do not do anything to protect their rights. People that say they don't vote because it doesn't make a difference. Idiots like that don't deserve to have the rights they currently enjoy but are the first to cry when it comes around and bites them in the &&%(.
This country has always been full of people who take it all for granted. Even George Washington and his army received minimal support from the population and the Continental Congress...."yeah, freedom sounds good....let me know when we've got it".
Today, most people don't care. They are more concerned with their own little world and don't give a crap about anything past the end of their driveway. Many are just struggling along, trying to survive. Many worry only about who wins "the game", the playoffs, who wins "American Idol" (now THAT'S a fitting title), who wins Talledega, how well that Peyton does this week, or what "Gibbs" does this week on "NCIS". Even at this forum of nearly 43,000 people who obviously care SOMETHING about their Second Amendment Rights, only a miniscule number participate in the Politics forum.
This election is just another election, and they didn't care about the last one so why should they care about this one?
Sometimes I wish that I were blissfully ignorant like they are. I would have fewer gray hairs and probably enjoy life a little more, if I weren't worrying so much about the future of people that don't give a crap.
Though there are actually many more people that care today than at any time in the 30 years or so that I have been informing people that they SHOULD pay attention. This is encouraging to me.
Is it too little too late? Maybe. Just because the tea parties aren't out there getting attention doesn't mean that the people that attended the rallies aren't out there....they are out there influencing people, working for campaigns, getting the word out on Facebook, Twitter, etc. I personally think that they should have all read Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals" to see what they should have been doing for the past year or so.
And I am under no illusion that America will be saved by either side winning this election. IMO, the best we can do is have it die more slowly if we choose the regime that isn't Marxist. And maybe it can be saved in the meantime.
It is a total lack of respect for the veterans that fought for them to have any rights at all.
The people in the US Military do what they do for all Americans. Most who are currently in uniform probably haven't really thought about the fact that a significant number of Americans don't deserve it. But even if they have, you don't pick and choose, all Americans benefit from your doing what most aren't willing to....raise your right hand to give yourself to your country to serve, maybe fight, maybe die.
How lazy can a person be. How uncaring about their children can they be.... not to, at least, vote to make a better future for the next generation.
Though it is for me and you....the choice is not that clear to people who don't have a clue. I'm not making excuses for them, because there isn't any excuse....but I think that I would rather them stay home if they aren't going to educate themselves before going to the polls. And even then......
