what should i do now?

Do you think it will be at the Dixie gunshow???

Probably not. It is a retarded idea that is lousy for anything but showing your buddies how dumb you are.
I think that getting a .22 first is a good idea. Ruger and S&W make very good .22's at reasonable prices, both semi-auto and revolvers. Charter Arms also makes a .22/.22 magnum revolver that is well made and for a good price.
Be aware that Bersa pistols are basically knock-offs of Beretta's older designs, but not finished as well.
Look at pics of the Beretta 82 and Bersa .380's. Lots of Walther PP in there as well.

You can carry a Bersa Thunder in any caliber in condition 1... round in chamber and safety off. The reason
being that when you chamber a round you can use the decocker to lower the hammer, then take the safety off.
This makes it like carrying a revolver, you just draw and pull the trigger which is around a 10 lb pull on the first
shot. To me it is very safe and all I have to do is draw and shoot when I need to. As for whether you get a
.380 or 9mm for carry, you will first need to shoot a .22 to get proficient, then try and rent some other guns
in different calibers to shoot.

Also, I hope you will carry the .22 when you get your CCW just to get used to carrying. Plus, don't let
anyone say different, a .22 can put 3 or 4 rounds in someone very fast and easy and they will be in
trouble. The .22 round does nasty things once it penetrates.

Thanks fudo, I saw the Beretta and Bersa pics, they look to be the same. Maybe Beretta owns the Bersa company. I will have to research it and see what I can find out. I am glad you like the idea of getting the 22 first. Practice makes perfect is what they always say!

Thanks cluznar, I don't think anyone can argue the point you just made. One shot with a 22 probably will not do much harm, but more than one, oh yea someone's going down.

Hey everyone, I just want to let you guys know, I filled out and printed these applications from online concealed handgun permit app, mental health release form, and a Livescan CCW form for prints. Then I went to the sheriffes office with my identification, $90, class certificate and applications. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. I am so excited, this has made my day. Can't wait to receive this permit in the mail! With over 11,000 applications ahead of me, this may take until next year!

just get in practice and learn as much as you can in the meantime .....
best wishes princess! it probably won't take that long ..my state says within 90 days but most get it back long before then even with complications like mine had

Thanks eagleeyes, I forgot to ask how long it might take. But 90 days will be sometime in October, they will have to work fast to process over 11,000 applications.

i'm sure when my permit was processing there were probably high numbers of applicants too .....you'll get it in time to me it didn't matter how long it took as i still felt i needed to learn alot before actually carrying anyways but it all worked out well as by time it came i was comfortable with handling guns and the basics and some good basic tactical training as well and figured out my best carry method .......
i also like to carry 'condition 1... round in chamber and safety off so i'm good to go by time the permit came and still going to continue training practice and defense tactics as i go

Thanks eagleeyes, I also need to be more comfortable with more training, so it isn't going to matter if it takes some time for the processing. Is condition one really safe??? Sorry for the dumb question but this is
still new for me.

it's safe for me as far as i'm concerned but i guess it's a personal preference.....and with training you too will feel comfortable in condition 1 but that also depends on the gun you get and the safety features and trigger pull so you will do what you feel comfortable doing......hell i wasn't even comfortable moving the box my gun was in for years let alone handling it when i kept it under my bed in a shoe box but if i had to i knew i'd pick it up aim and fire it if someone came in my house at night that didn't belong here......it was only after i asked my son to teach me how to load rack and handle it safely was i comfortable even holding the thing .......i come a long way in just the last two months and glad i took the initiative to do so......and you will too in time
best wishes always princess

i don't know but i haven't seen anyting like that at our local gun show but i didn't stop to look at every table or gun either as it was a big show with many tables and even the small gun show i went to about two weeks ago i didn't see one like that but saw some interesting guns none the less.......
i'd name that one double trouble lolz

Double Trouble
My father’s castle has a view
of the sea
Oh what a beautiful sight
Someday my prince will come
for me
He is my one true love
my delight
My dreams come floating on
the mist
The vampire came through my window
at midnight
My father would
be pissed
I saw he was not alone
His friend gave me such
a fright
I almost turned into stone
These vampires need to go
I pulled my AF-2011 Double Barrel
from my night stand
It was time for the show
Always loaded with silver bullets
garlic laced
the look on their face was
quite dazed
the trigger left those two
disintegrated

Awakening from this dream
The breeze came whispering
it is going to be a sensational day
With a kiss on the cheek
from a sunbeam

Just remember that carrying a gun is serious business, no drinking alcohol. Be aware of your surroundings, have a good gun belt and holster, and be sure when and if you have to draw it. If you do, keep shooting till the threat is eliminated. Remember, the other person with a gun is a threat to your life, they will very possibly kill you, robbing you of your right to live.

Thanks cluznar this was very good advice! Maybe the old saying " Shoot first and ask questions later" will be the best motto when up against an armed villian.

Congrats!
One year? That seems a bit extreme. Hope it's sooner

I have a S&W 22A for training family, plinking and target practice. Check it out when you get a chance.

Thanks Sir Diealotz, I hope they can process 11,000 applications quickly. I will check out the S&W 22A, seems like the S&W are a well trusted company. I am looking to buy a 22 for target practice. Thanks for your reply.
