What Do You Carry?

I've owned many handguns over the years but the list of what I've carried has been short.
My first carry gun was a .40 caliber HK P2000. Then I moved to Kimber 1911's for the longest time until recently (about a year ago in the spring I picked up a KAHR PM9 to pants pocket carry and found it to be WAY too small for my hand so I sold it.
I just happened info a local shop and saw a used P9, the slightly bigger brother of the PM9 and fell in love the second I held it.
It became my new summer carry gun on the spot, and now is my daily carry piece. So nice and light weight.

Depends on Planned Activities
What I carry depends on the activities I am leaving the home for, if I am going to be in a classroom, or office environment all day, I usually carry a S&W Model 42 in a pocket holster. Bigger pistols for the drive to and from are locked in box in the trunk of the car when it's parked, but handy for wearing and keeping close while driving in traffic or in less desirable areas of the city.
Going out to dinner with the family, I'll wear either my Sig 229r, S&W 4006, or Kimber CDP in a IWB holster.
Going out on my own to run errands, then it's either a Python 4", S&W 686 3", S&W 29 4" or S&W 629 2" in IWB holsters.
Around the house, I tend to either wear the Sig 229r or a Colt Cobra (2nd Gen.) in OWB holsters.
I really haven't settled down to carrying just one all the time. I prefer the .357 wheel guns, but in crowded places or out with the family I feel better with a higher capacity weapon in a .40 or larger caliber.
I really hate vacations, on these I have the .357 S&W 686 in the center console and wear the S&W 4006 in an IWB holster. I take the S&W Model 42 along for those occasional times when a weapon in a holster just doesn't fit and I want something in a pocket holster.
Course, every time I carry, I always have an extra mag or 2 speed-loaders.
Someday I hope to settle down to a one and only, but after the past 3 years, I think it's going to be some time yet...

I just picked up an LCP myself. I'm planning a trip out west and had originally planned to take my Llama IIIa, but I had some extractor problems with it. Now, I'm having second thoughts about taking the little LCP, as opposed to my .44 special Charter bulldog. (I can only bring one gun on my airline, otherwise, I'd pack 'em both...)
LAST MONDAY, NOVEMBER THE 8th, I SENT MY TAURUS 9MM PISTOL IN FOR REPAIRS(SEVERAL DELAYED HITS AND JAMS). TAURUS SAID 4 TO 5 WEEKS FOR REPAIRS. RIGHT NOW IT'S SITTING AT YOJ SPORTING
WAITING FOR ME TO PICK IT UP AND TODAY IS MONDAY, NOVEMBER THE 15th. HARD TO BELIEVE THEY REPAIRED IT THAT QUICK. CAN'T WAIT TO READ WHAT THEY DID OR DIDN'T DO. HAVE HEARD OF OTHER TAURUS GUN OWNERS WAITNG SEVERAL MONTHS TO GET THEIR GUN BACK. IF THAT'S THE CASE, THEN THEY MUST HAVE A LOT OF REPAIRS TO MAKE ON THEIR PRODUCTS. I ONLY PUT ABOUT 500 ROUNDS THRU IT SO TECHNICALLY IT'S NOT EVEN BROKEN IN. WELL, I'LL SEE WHETHER OR NOT THEY CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. IF NOT, THEY CAN TAKE A HIKE AND IT'S ON TO A MUCH MORE RELIABLE CARRY PISTOL.

One week turn-around time with taurus. They adjusted the slide on my taurus 9mm and replaced the fireing pin. Never ever thought i'd get it back so quickly. My hats off to taurus. I really can't understand having to wait 3-4 weeks or longer to get your gun repaired. Go figure!

I carry a Glock 99% of the time...you can pick a model because I have several of eah EXCEPT the Glock 18. Of that 99% of the time....I carry a new Gen 3.5 Glock 22RTF. I have been carrying a Glock for 20 years and shooting one twice a week in steel competition, and in over, and by over, I mean WELL OVER 300,000 rounds through Glocks, I have never had a malfunction related to the gun. I did have one FTF with a junk Sherer mag, which was repaired as soon as I chucked it into the trash.
For backup, which I carry religiously, I have a J-Frame wheelgun in my left pocket.
The other 1% of the time, I carry a lightly customized stainless Colt Combat Commander.

Of course the usual considerations, weather, clothing, activity..etc.
And I'm ALWAYS looking for new carry guns...

I have a Springfield XD 9 but I find it to be bulky and I rarely cary it as a result. I most often carry a Taurus 709 slim. At only 1" thick it is far more comfortable and is much easier to conceal. So far I haven't had any problems with it. I just picked up a Taurus TCP .380 yesterday. It feels better to me than the Ruger LCP and I have a feeling it will soon become my most carried gun simply because of how small and easy to carry it is.

I have 3 o4 possible carry pieces, ranging from a 22 Mag derringer, a TP 22, a Ruger LCP and a S&W 37. All are dependable, but whichever I carry gives me the confidence to stand my ground with confidence and give the impression I don't have any fear of any situation. I believe how someone perceives you in the first place determines what their actions will be, and most of the time if a person sees you aren't worried about them, they;ll find someone that is. I've never had to show my piece, though I have been asked if I really had a gun on me. Street punks are not looking for a fight, they are looking for an easy mark.
I'm surer that if faced with a psycho or some one high on PCP my attitude wouldn't matter, but that's why I carry a 38 or .380, to adjust their attitude.
I also have my choice of a 357 Sig/40 S&W Sig229 in a black hawk holster with two extra magazines. a 45 long colt or a number of long guns, but clothing and conditions seldom allow me to carry the more useful calibers.

For light carry, my Kel Tec P-11 in 9mm. With Winter clothes and a coat, a Sigma in 9mm.:laugh:

I carry one gun at a time, but I vary which one every three to four weeks. That keeps me tuned in ergonomically to each weapon and decreases the need to think hard about which is in my hand, in or out of the house. I carry a Para P12.45, a Glock 23, a Browning HP, or a Sig P250 40 S&W. Which one I'm carrying depends on mode of dress, the situation, and I will admit that mood also calls which one I put on at any given time. I trust 'em all, shoot at least two each week, and keep them all cleaned and loaded after every shoot.
