What Do You Carry?

Daily carry

Most times, I'm wearing a High Noon Slide Guard Holster with my MK9 Kahr, conceals easily and shoots any +P ammo I want...great accurate smooth shooter.

If the weather is a tad colder, I'll change and wear my Kimber Ultra Carry II, also in a High Noon Slide Guard Holster.

If it's really hot out, I can carry my LCP Ruger, either in my front pocket, (cargo shorts, with a pocket sleeve)...have no idea who made it...!!! Or I've got a Don Hume holster for OWB that makes the little gun disappear on my waist.

Lastly, I'm trying to work myself up to carrying a Wilson Combat SS Bobtail Professional...4", just don't yet feel that I'm concealing it very well, unless I'm wearing a coat to help hide the bulge.
 
I used to carry my Rossi .38 then stepped up to a first Gen. Glock 17. now I carry an EAA Witness 10mm. It is a larger and heavier gun but with the right holster I have had no problem. If you need a good holster check this guy out. Fantastic work. H.B.E. Specialty LeatherWorks
 
What I carry

I have carried a Ruger p95 and a Kahr pm9 in the past. My favorite carry is a Ruger LCP. It is very reliable, comfortable and easy to conceal with normal fashon clothing. I carry all day and enjoy max. comfort and concelament with my weapon and holster selection.
 
I carry a Kahr PM9 Black w/ Night Sights and buffalo bore 124 gr. +p+ 1300 F.P.S
In the winter I carry a Taurus PT99 AF with the same ammo. With the Taurus I bought an early model and the feed ramp on the frame was off center. I could not shoot a mag with out a jam. I sent it to Taurus and 3 months later I had a new gun. I paid 250 for the old one :sarcastic:
 
In the evening I carry my Kimber CDP pro .45 with the night sites.
During the day My Taurus 24/7 pro .40.

I don't believe in little guns. hahaha!
 
I have three choices:

Ruger P44 .40cal

Taurus .327cal

Ruger LCP .380acp

S&W Model 19 .357cal

But I mostly carry the Ruger LCP. It makes sense to me.
 
Change of EDC

I have carried Sig's for years, most recently a SigPro 2022, but that will soon either be sold/traded/or put on the shelf in exchange of either a 1911 or a Pro Carry II, I shot one today at the range and fell in LOVE with it.

Wish I could afford it right now. Unfortunately with my wife being out of work most of last year, spending money on wants instead of needs is not possible now.

SO, I am leaning toward a Kimber Pro Carry II, or a 1911 with a 4 inch. I have smaller hands so a full size 1911 is not a good fit. The thing I will miss most is the high capacity mag. Going from 14+1 to 7+1 will be very hard to get used to. I will surely go from one extra mag on my belt to two.
 
I carry a Springfield Ultra Compact Stainless .45 in a Safariland horizonal shoulder holster. It is a very comfortable setup. The gun has never had a ftf in over 3000 rounds of all kinds of ammo.
 
This thread has been interesting and informative, but it all boils out to one philosophy for me. All I really care about is what I carry. I need to know that I can handle it, that it will fire every time without question, and that it has the power to stop whatever is going to kill me or someone around me. In another forum, someone recently commented that his ultimate carry weapon would be a 45 watt plasma rifle, made out of polymer and "whatthef___ium". I laughed so hard I almost got a cramp. :sarcastic:
 
What should I Carry?

I would love to have one of Arnie's "Terminator" weapons during a confrontation however they don't conceal and carry as well as my
380 LCP or PM9. Comfort, Concealment, Access and Dress Options are my concerns for all day use.
 
I carry a SIG P220R CARRY with CTC LASERGRIPS and night sights.
My second choice would be a carbon copy of my current gun:biggrin:
 
Concealed carry choice

There are probably as many different opinions as to the "best" concealed carry weapon as there are people who carry them. For myself, who owns more than a dozen different hand guns, I've come to prefer the tried and true Colt .38 Detective Spcl. in .38 Spcl. with a 2 1/2" barrel, hammer shroud, custom gripps and loaded with +P ammo. Semi-autos are all very well and good for combat situations but they've been known to jam at awkward moments. I'm also of the opinion that if you can't do what you have to do with 6 rounds then you probably can't do it with 13 rounds either and shouldn't be carrying a concealed weapon in the first place!

Ages since I posted but - recently gave my SIG 226ST a break (after several years) and opted to switch to my 220, which in fit terms is fine in the same holster. It's a bit lighter than the 226 and as sweat not a problem in winter will not suffer from that!

Capacity is down of course to 7+1 of .45acp compared with the 15+1 of 9mm. This also has CT grips like the 226 and is, being the same basic platform, an easy change. One other small bonus is that a single stack mag is that bit less bulky to tuck away if I decide to have a spare.

#1 it must go bang every time
#2 you must hit what you aim for, every time
#3 carry the same gun in same position every time (no searching for your gun allowed)
#4 if you need more than 4 rounds, you are gonna be dead anyway.
 
Still P3AT is front pocket daily. Loaded with staggered FMJ/Corbon DPX rounds.

While working or knocking around at home, I've started adding the XD-40 (M) or XD-45 to the belt in OWB Fobus at 3:00.
