This is one of the reasons why I have my troops turn off their personal phones while we do our "equipment check" prior to any misson.

This is one of the reasons I am not a fan of cell phones in combat zones. In all of my tours to Iraq we were not allowed to carry a cell phone over there and would be punished if we were found to have one. Of course this is Marine mentality here I know the Army is different. Another reason not to have them is incase someone is killed you do not want the family to find out via a phone call.
