If one does carry "hot" is there not a greater chance for accidental fire, or are modern handguns safer now?

I'm still fairly new to carrying, so my question is..should I carry hot or not?..why why not? Thank you for any info, and remember I'm still new to carrying so I want as much info as I can get so I can make an educated decision. Sorry if this has been asked already.
Thanks for the video!I'll re-post this trusty video clip once again. Please watch it. It will best answer your question imvho.
Thanks for the video!
An unchambered firearm is about as useful as a rock. Rack the slide and load another into the magazine.
I do not understand your post. Why would he have to carry hot, rack the slide to load the mag?

I suppose it depends upon whether you think you can draw and chamber a round one handed while trying to fight off one or more assailants... and do so with NO chance of creating a failure to feed.I'm still fairly new to carrying, so my question is..should I carry hot or not?..why why not? He's saying carry +1. If it's a 9 rd mag load the chamber, take out the mag and add 1 to make 9 again then re insert the mag. Voila! 9+1
For my EDC I have a 9 rd and 15 rd mag. So I carry 9+1 or 15+1. Full mag plus full chamber.
