Suggestions on a single stack 9mm?

It's not a single stack, but my favorite 9x19mm carry gun is my Browning Hi Power. It's remarkably slim in the grip for a double stack gun.

Aside from that, an M1911 type 9x19mm of some kind is VERY easy to hold and conceal, be it a full sized M1911, a Commander size or the Springfield EMP.

If you're such a poor shot that you can't hit the target with a .45 what makes you think you can hit it with a 9mm?

Well a "sig 225" aka sig p6 is a very nice and can be had for 400.00 dollars or less. Look on ebang.com and search sig p6
 
Hand guns, like gloves, come in different sizes because hands come in different sizes. What's good for the goose may not be good for the gander. Personally I carry the M&P Shield in 9mm. Great little gun.
 
Springfield EMP! Just bought one last month and I am very happy! Super comfortable IWB and extremely accurate. Sold my p229 because it was too thick and a little heavy.
 
Here is my opinion. I found the s&w m&p 9 shield to be a awesome single stack 9mm. I own a cm9, shield, and had a glock 36 and I love them all but the shield is my choice for single stack 9mm. however if you want the 45 acp round i would suggest getting the xds (which I have) and it has less felt recoil than the glock 36 and a great shooter. Now how are you going to carry.. iwb, pocket, appendix? For pocket carry the cm9 is ideal, for appendix or iwb I find the shield to be great because the handles is a tad too long for pocket carry. YMMV great luck to you.
 
I own a Kahr CW9 and absolutely love it. It is my primary carry piece and fits the bill well. standard capacity is 7+1, they make an extended mag which bumps it up to 8. Very slim and light weight. I am a big fan of the trigger as well, it is a kinda long pull but very smooth and very accurate. I can put all 8 bullets in 2" at 7 yards slowfire, with rapid fire it does open up a bit because the recoil is a little snappy, but still within minute of bad guy in rapidfire out to 10 yards. I also really like the bar dot sights, I find them to be very intuitive and easy to use. All that being said, if I were buying the same gun again, I would also look seriously at an M&P shield. It wasn't available when I bought my CW9, and it would be a tough call between the two. I've also shot the Ruger LC9 and I personally found the trigger to be wanting, esp when compared to the CW9.
 
S&W 3913... Nice little compact gun and lightweight. Very accurate and durable. You can find them fairly cheap besides. Prefer my 4516 but that is not a 9mm of course.....
 
9’s may be a great piece and folks like them but I have had 9’s by Beretta, Smith, and Taurus. I have had many 40’s. I would go with any 40 S&W calibers. Just a few less rounds maybe two, but the hydrostatic shock and wound penetration/tissue damage (Whatever one may wish to refer to). The American Rifleman by the NRA has some great examples of the One Shot Stopping power (September issue page 50). Sizing up your options. Kimber makes 9’s I have Kimbers but not in 9mm. Also depends on what one is buying for, only self-defense, self-defense and practice, paper punching as a hobby. For ease of maintains and simplicity I like Glock model 22, Gen 3 or 4. The G-26 is not bad in my opinion.
 
I have a CM40, I like it except for a couple of gripes. It's kinda hard to eject the magazine, for me and my hand anyway. And it's relatively hard to take apart, compared to my Baretta PX4.
 
I have owned and sold a Kahr CM9 and Beretta Nano.

My go to pocket rocket is the M&P Shield.

The Shield has been 100% reliable.

I can't say the same for the other ccws mentioned.

It was very frustrating and costly on ammo trying to find a reliable ccw.

If you want a trouble free firearm I would recommend the Shield 9 mm and as an added bonus S&W improved the trigger making it on par with the Kahr only a shorter pull and reset.

( Amen) RJ some of these .45 guys are just full of them self with there 1 shot wonder magic .45 cal. bullets. We have done some nonscientific testing in the back yard at 7 to 10 yds with .380, 9mm, .40 and .45’s with denim, catalogs, phone books and drywall attached to 2x6’s and a multitude of different PD ammo and a stack cement blocks with FMJ and PD when we where finished everyone especially the .45 and .40 guys where surprised at the damage and penetration done by all 4 calipers. No one wanted to jump up and take a hit even from the lowly .380
