Cognitive dissonance can be such a pitiful, sad thing.

Even with your self-realization in that statement, we still don't sympathize. Your obvious hate for theists is truly pitiful and sad, your life must be miserable for you to constantly come into a thread to simply insult and criticize others. You will never change any minds here and you just come off as foolish by trying to insult everyone who believes in God.

All this being said by someone who isn't a theist, either... I'm just mature enough to understand that what others believe is their business and as long as it doesn't infringe upon any of my Rights, there is nothing to discuss negatively, insult or criticize.

You need to grow up, troll.

Asking for Trouble

By Daymond Duck

“Asking for trouble” is a phrase that means behaving in a way that will likely cause you problems or behaving in a way that will backfire on you. It reminds me of something in the Bible:

“For the day of the LORD is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head” (Obadiah 1:15).

When the Tribulation period draws near what the unsaved try to do to Israel will be done unto them.

God is not dead. He is sovereign. He is holy. He judges with righteous judgment. At the end of the age, He will allow the unsaved to determine their own judgment by how they treat Israel. The actions of those who persist in harming Israel will come back on them because they are ignoring the Word of God.

Concerning the weather, God controls it. The Bible says, God “causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth the wind out of his treasuries” (Psalm 135:7). God controls the mist, lightning, rain and wind. The Bible also says, “Fire, and hail; snow, and vapour; stormy wind fulfilling his word” (Psalm 148:8). God uses high temperatures, ice, snow, mist and wind to fulfill His Word. So, you see weather extremes might have something to do with Bible prophecy.

About four years ago, the U.S. was pushing Israel to negotiate a peace treaty with the PA to create a Palestinian state on the West Bank of Israel. The Bible warns against this, but U.S. Vice President Joe Biden traveled to Israel in March of 2010 to discuss it. Prime Minister Netanyahu came to this country in July of that same year to discuss it. Israel and the PA agreed to hold direct negotiations in September of that same year, but the negotiations quickly broke down. And about that time, a drought started to take hold in several southwestern states.

In 2011, President Obama continued to push the peace negotiations and he made several speeches in May calling for negotiations to begin based on Israel’s pre-1967 borders. The EU praised his position and the G-8 nations expressed strong support. The drought in the U.S. worsened, the price of hay soared, many ranchers were forced to slaughter their animals and the size of the U.S. cattle herd dropped sharply. There was a glut of beef on the market for awhile causing the price of beef to decline, but the price soon started up and it eventually hit an all-time-high.

In 2012, the U.S. election dominated politics and the pressure on Israel let up slightly. But the pressure wasn’t completely stopped and by then the drought had started spreading to California.

In 2013, John Kerry replaced Hillary Clinton as U.S. Secretary of State and he took over—totally obsessed with the idea of forcing a peace treaty on Israel. By the end of the year he had made almost a dozen trips to the Middle East to force Israel to accept the pre-1967 borders against the will of God.

To get Iran to the negotiating table over its nuclear weapons program, the U.S. linked up with the EU. The two promised to cut Israel down to size by isolating and weakening Israel. To get Israel to agree to the pre-1967 borders, Mr. Kerry got the EU to threaten to harm the economy of Israel by boycotting Israeli crops and manufactured products grown and produced on the West Bank. Mr. Kerry wanted the EU to slowly harm Israel’s economy at first, but he wanted them to ramp up the damage if the peace negotiations fail. He also warned Israel that the PA will start another intifada (rioting and demonstrating) if the Jews fail to sign a peace treaty.

Considering what God said in Obadiah 1:15, trying to cut Israel down to size is the same thing as asking God to cut the U.S. down to size. Trying to harm Israel’s economy is the same thing as asking God to harm the U.S. economy. Trying to harm Israel’s crops and industry is the same thing as asking God to harm U.S. crops and industry. And encouraging the PA to start another intifada in Israel is the same thing as asking God to send rioting and demonstrations in the U.S. God is not mean. He will just give the nations what they ask for.

Isn’t it interesting that while the U.S. is trying to weaken Israel the U.S. is losing allies left and right (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, etc.)? And while the U.S. is trying to harm the economy of Israel the U.S. economy is tanking. And while the U.S. is urging the EU to boycott food grown on the West Bank of Israel the U.S. food supply is being threatened by the worst drought in California history.

In fact, the God who controls the rain and snow has shut up the heavens over California, but He has opened them up over Israel. California has received so little rain and snow that her reservoirs are dangerously low, she doesn’t have enough water to adequately irrigate her crops and several small communities could run out of water by this summer.

On the other hand, Israel has received so much rain and snow that her reservoirs are almost full and she has more than enough to irrigate her crops. She has even reduced the operation of her desalinization plants because she doesn’t need the water. The U.S. needs to pay attention to the Word of God and leave Israel alone. Things won’t get better if we keep asking for trouble.

Fact-checking the political bogeymen --- American and Israeli

Israeli Finance Minister Yair Lapid delivered a scary speech on Wednesday. At the Institute of National Security Studies conference, Lapid warned that if we don't accept US Secretary of State John Kerry's framework for negotiations, the Europeans are going to take away our money. Lapid claimed that Israel's economic future is dependent on surrendering Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria to the PLO. If we don't, he said, the EU will abrogate its economic association agreement with us. And such a move on Europe's part will cause serious harm to our economy. According to Lapid, "If negotiations with the Palestinians stall or blow up and we enter the reality of a European boycott, even a very partial one, the Israeli economy will retreat, the cost of living will rise, budgets for education, health, welfare and security will be cut [and] many international markets will be closed to us." On the other hand, if we give up Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, Lapid promises that we will all get rich. It took less than 10 minutes for Lapid's remarks to be exposed as utter nonsense. The EU delegation to Israel flatly denied that the EU is considering abrogating the association agreement. "There has been absolutely no consideration in the EU of the abrogation of the association agreement. It is not in the cards," a statement by the delegation said.

As for the economic benefits Lapid promised Israel would reap from giving in to the PLO, here too, his claims do not withstand scrutiny. First of all, Israel's economy will be dramatically weakened, not strengthened, by a deal with the PLO.
As Economy Minister Naftali Bennett explained last week, the establishment of a Palestinian state in Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem would cause unprecedented damage to the economy. Like the de facto Palestinian state in Gaza, such a state would serve as a launching ground for missile attacks against Israel. And from Judea and Samaria, the Palestinians would have the capacity to destroy Israel's economy with just a few, relatively primitive projectiles. As Bennett out it, "Imagine if just one missile per day fell on [Israel's technology hub in] Herzliya Pituah, what that would do to Israel's economy. If even one plane which was supposed to land at Ben-Gurion Airport crashes [due to terrorism] per year, it would crush the Israeli economy." Beyond what the Palestinians would do, there is no reason to believe - and every reason to doubt - that Europe would reward Israel in any way for giving its capital and heartland to the PLO.

In remarks last week meant to counter Bennett's statement, Justice Minister Tzipi Livni inadvertently explained the true situation Israel faces from Europe. In Livni's words, "Europe is boycotting [Israeli] products. And, true, it is starting with the settlements, but their problem is with Israel, which is perceived as a colonialist state, so it won't only stop with the settlements but will [reach] Israel as a whole." As we learned from our experience with the 2005 withdrawal from Gaza, Israel's actions play no role in Europe's perception of the Jewish state. Europe will not cease to perceive Israel as "a colonialist state" even if we remove ourselves, lock, stock and barrel to the 1949 armistice lines. In the lead-up to the Gaza withdrawal, Livni promised that once Israel quit Gaza, its diplomatic position would improve dramatically. By ending the so-called occupation of Gaza, she argued, Israel would prove its good will, and the Europeans would stop attacking us and take our side against the Palestinians at the UN and other arenas. In the event, not only did this not occur, but the EU refused to acknowledge that the so-called occupation of Gaza even ended. To this day, Europe castigates Israel for its mythical "occupation" of Gaza.

As Livni accidentally explained, as far as Europe is concerned, Israel's size is not the issue. Israel is the issue. True, Israel surrendered Gaza to Palestinian terrorists and removed every Israeli civilian and soldier from the territory. But since Israel is still stronger than the terror state in Gaza, Israel is still the "occupier." By the same token, even if Israel were to quit Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem completely, as long as Israel remains more powerful than the Palestinians in the areas, Europe will castigate Israel as the "occupier." And since the Palestinians and their allies will destroy Israel if it is ever less powerful than they are, Europe will stop condemning Israel as "a colonialist state" only if Israel ceases to exist. At any rate, since the EU is not considering abrogating the economic association agreement, and since Israel will be economically worse off if it quits Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem, why is the finance minister trying to scare us? First, he's doing it because everyone else is doing it.

Peace Now has joined the boycott, sanctions and divestment campaign. Livni threatens Israelis so often with economic ruin that Foreign Ministry officials are complaining that she's giving foreigners ideas. In Washington, the Obama administration has added the threat of Israeli economic devastation to its list of plagues that will befall the Jewish state if we don't give up our national heartland to the PLO. In his remarks at the World Economic Forum in Davos last week, US Secretary of State John Kerry said, "Israel's economic juggernaut is a wonder to behold.... But a deteriorating security environment and the growing isolation that could come with it could put that prosperity at risk." In other words, "Nice economy you got there Israel. It'd be a real shame if anything happened to it." The second reason that Lapid is threatening us - along with Livni, Kerry and so many others - is that he has nothing else to say in support of the fake peace process. Kerry's framework for Middle East peace offers neither anything new nor anything positive for the Israeli public to support. Were Israel to follow him down his garden path, we would receive neither peace, nor demographic security, nor national security nor national prosperity. We will not receive peace because there is no Palestinian leadership interested in making peace, and there is no significant Palestinian constituency that supports peace. As Strategic Affairs Minister Yuval Steinitz said at the INSS Wednesday, PLO chief Mahmoud Abbas is "the world's number one anti-Semitic leader." Steinitz elaborated, "There is an anti-Semitic subtext prevalent throughout the Palestinian Authority's curriculum and the children programs. The subtext is very clear - the State of Israel and the Jews should be destroyed.

"Abbas does not actively finance terror, but he who denied the Holocaust now denies the existence of a Jewish nation and its right to a state." In this context, no negotiations will lead to peace. In Steinitz's words, "There is no peace process. If an agreement is signed with the Palestinian Authority, it will be a diplomatic agreement, not a peace agreement." And the vast majority of Israelis know this. And Livni, Lapid, Kerry and their ilk know we know this. So all they can do is threaten us. The first place they went, after the promise of peace was blown up at cafes and bus stops countrywide, was demographics. For 17 years, the Left has been relying on a falsified 1997 Palestinian census that exaggerated the Palestinian population by 50 percent, as a means of scaring Israelis into going along with its phony peace process. Still today, Kerry, Livni, Lapid and their fellow travelers seek to intimidate us by constantly telling us that continued Israeli control over Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem will bring about Israel's demographic demise. But the lie at the heart of their argument is no longer possible to ignore. As demographic expert Yoram Ettinger wrote last week in Yisrael Hayom, Jewish Israeli fertility rates are higher than Palestinian fertility rates in Judea and Samaria. In 2013, the Palestinian fertility rate was 2.91 children per woman and the Israeli Jewish fertility rate was 3.04 children per woman. Today Jews make up 62-66 percent of the population in Judea, Samaria and sovereign Israel. With a two to one majority, a higher birthrate, and positive immigration rates, far from being a strategic threat to Israel's national viability, demographics are one of Israel's strategic assets.

The only threat to Israel's demographic stability is the two-state formula. A Palestinian state in Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem would permit the unlimited immigration of millions of foreign Arabs into its territory. Rather than securing Israel's Jewish majority, a Palestinian state would place millions of hostile Arabs on the outskirts of a rump Israel's major cities. With their threat of demographic ruin losing its traction with the public, purveyors of the twostate plan now raise the threat of economic strangulation and ruin at every opportunity. They understand that given the public's refusal to be drawn into their fantasies about "peace dividends," the only path before them is a mix of intimidation and political subversion. They hope that together these two tactics can force Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to submit to Kerry's dictates for Israeli territorial surrenders. Regarding political subversion, last week Eli Lake at the Daily Beast reported that the Obama administration is appealing to retired Israeli security brass to lobby the public against the government, in support of Kerry's plan for Israel to surrender the Jordan Valley to the PLO. According to senior defense sources, administration lobbying is not limited to retired generals. The US is also recruiting currently serving IDF commanders to work on behalf of Kerry's plan. The idea is to rally a large enough cadre of security brass in favor of surrendering the Jordan Valley to undermine the authority of Netanyahu and Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon, who has rejected Kerry's plan.

Beyond frightening the general public, the economic threats are geared toward subverting the economic leadership of the country. Until now, Israel's business leaders have been supporting Netanyahu's economic leadership. The campaign's largest success to date came last week when a large delegation of Israeli business leaders joined the Kerry bandwagon and called for the partition of Jerusalem and surrender of Judea and Samaria in order to avoid economic penalties. Clearly we are getting to crunch time. Kerry is waiting for Netanyahu to agree to his framework. Until he does, Kerry, his allies and agents will escalate their threats and subversion. So far, Netanyahu, Bennett and Ya'alon have competently exposed the lies behind the threats.

And they must continue on this course. As we learned from Oslo and Gaza, nothing good comes from surrendering our rights and our land. And with Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem hanging in the balance, the stakes have never been higher.

Genesis 12:3
"I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you, I will curse".

We're for sure seeing this signs of the end of something, Ringo... and it don't look pretty.

Each year we have extreme weather, but it's unusual to have so many extreme events around the world at once. Such events are increasing in intensity as well as frequency, a sign that climate change is not just about rising temperatures, but also about intense, unpleasant, anomalous weather of all kinds. Weather.com states, "Record heat, deadly cold temperatures, flooding and rare snowfall - a wide range of extreme weather events have taken place around the world in the past few weeks. In the United States, last year was the hottest since records began. Now, the U.S. has just named its tenth noteworthy winter storm of the season, and it's only January. Last Tuesday the U.S. suffered sub-zero wind chills, setting countless records. Barry Lynn is a lecturer at the Hebrew University's department of earth science and also runs a forecasting business. He said that the severe and prolonged cold in the upper atmosphere was a big-picture shift which indicates the Atlantic Ocean was no longer having the moderating effect on weather in the Middle East and Europe that it has historically. Lynn stated, "The intensity of the cold is unusual. It seems the weather is going to become more intense; there's going to be more extremes."

I could go on about these and other "signs of the times" that tell us we're in the "times of the signs," but I'll just mention one more type of weather. Have you heard of "nuclear winter?" According to Olli Heinonen, former deputy director of the International Atomic Energy Agency, if Iran wanted it would currently take the country "two to three weeks to have enough uranium hexafluoride high-enriched for a nuclear weapon." Mankind has never invented a weapon that it didn't eventually use. God's Word describes just such a scenario during the Tribulation. There are, no doubt, a lot of people who don't want to hear that we're in the end days. I understand that. I'm sick of BEING in the end days; it's getting worse by the day - as it was in the days of Noah. No other generation has had ALL the signs coming together AT ONE TIME as this generation has. The Bible warns us that the generation who sees this happen will be the one to see Christ's return. I've stated before that - being a Christian I'm called to be a watchman on the wall and warn others that God's judgment is coming upon the earth. Matthew chapter 24 and Luke chapter 21 describe how it will be just before Jesus returns to earth. "In the same way, when you see all these things, you can know His return is very near, right at the door" (Matthew 24:33). We're already 65 years into this Last Generation and seeing the beginning signs of the Tribulation. Therefore, how much closer must we be to the Rapture? People need to know that time is short.

Why stop now, with skeptics, seers, sage and soothsayers able to display diverse and scholarly tomes from both sides?

It would be a shame to close this thread. It has become larger than the sum of its parts.

Delusional Diplomacy

What is John Kerry doing? Have you heard the term, "the most dangerous man on earth?" Well, maybe that's a stretch and maybe it isn't. But the wreckage he is creating is staggering. Sure, much of it is coming down from his boss, Barack Hussein Obama.

The Obama/Kerry locomotive has been trying to jam a peace deal down Israel's throat. They threaten that if Israel doesn't accept the ludicrous terms, it would de-legitimize Israel. They leave out of the equation the fact that Israel has no peace partner. Time after time the "peace partners" walk out as has Arafat, Hamas, and Abbas.

In Bill Koenig's most recent Koenig's Eye-View from the White House, he quotes columnist Caroline Glick. She states: "Once again, on Saturday, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry tried to extort Israeli concessions to the PLO by threatening us with a Western economic boycott.

"Kerry is obsessed with Israel's economic success. Last May, he told us that we're too rich to surrender our land. Now he's saying we'll be poor if we don't do so.

"The anti-Semitic undertones of Kerry's constant chatter about Jews having too much money are obvious. But beyond their inherent bigotry, Kerry's statements serve to legitimize the radical Left's economic war against the Jewish state.

"Administration supporters and fundraisers from Code Pink and other pressure groups, as well as the EU, understand that if they escalate their economic and political persecution of the Jewish state, their actions will be met with quiet understanding, and even support, from the Obama administration.

"This is so even if the State Department issues indignant press releases expressing fury [that] those Israeli elected officials have the chutzpah to object to Kerry's behavior.

"Israel has been subjected to plenty of abuse from American secretaries of state. But Kerry's incessant talk of 'illusory' Jewish money is unprecedented.

"Why does Kerry believe he can get away with this? The overwhelming majority of U.S. lawmakers oppose economic warfare against Israel. The vast majority of Americans support Israel and believe that a Palestinian state will support terrorism and be hostile to Israel."

Glick goes on to provide the troubling answers. "The answer is as infuriating as it is apparent. It is the Israeli Left, and through it, much of the American Jewish community that enables Kerry's diplomatic aggression against the Jewish state. Operating under their cover, Kerry feels free to engage in anti-Jewish bigotry directed against Israeli society.

"He believes he is immune from allegations of ill will toward Israel even as he places the full weight of the U.S. government behind a plan that will endanger Israel, bring no peace, destabilize the Middle East, and fail to win the U.S. any friends or allies in the Islamic world."

Some in Israel are comparing Kerry to Haman and warn that his plans amount to a war on God.

A group called Rabbis from the Committee to Save the Land and People of Israel sent a letter to U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry this Sunday, warning him to end his "antagonism" towards Israel. The rabbis sharply criticized Kerry for his plans to establish an Arab capital in Jerusalem for Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, and to have Israel withdraw to the 1949 Armistice lines.

Recently, Kerry threatened Israel with an international boycott if peace talks fail, in addition to previous threats of a "third Intifada" last year.

The Rabbis, although not believers, still made an accurate statement. They said, "Your incessant efforts to expropriate integral parts of our Holy Land and hand them over to Abbas's terrorist gang, amount to a declaration of war against the Creator and Ruler of the universe."

They concluded, "If you continue on this destructive path, you will ensure your everlasting disgrace in Jewish history for bringing calamity upon the Jewish people -- like Nebuchadnezzar and Titus who destroyed, respectively, the first and second great Temples and the entire Holy City of Jerusalem, and who, by Heavenly punishment, brought eventual disaster upon themselves, too."

Though they lack the light of the Holy Spirit, they have still spoken truth. America has endured a winter like no other. In my area, the Upper Midwest, the temps this winter have been compared to that on Mars when factoring in wind chills. Wrap your brain around minus 70 degrees. The West is experiencing a 100-year drought. Forests will soon be aflame in a dozen states. We do not know if there is a connection but it doesn't hurt to ask.

There are consequences to continually pounding God's land and people; making deals with her staunch enemies such as Iran; compromising her safety day after day; favoring her barbarian Islamic neighbors with back door deals; arming her enemies.

Israeli journalist Michael Freund calls Kerry a bully in a china shop. He states his arrogance is only preceded by his ignorance. He recently made up a country: Kyrzakhstan. One of the most powerful men in Washington and the world doesn't know there is no such nation.

As Gary Bauer writes, the Iranian leader is responding to this kind of "give peace a chance" leadership by sending warships near our coast. And the regime's state-run media is treating its citizens to propaganda videos featuring the bombing of Tel Aviv and sinking of an American aircraft carrier.

John Kerry is conducting delusional diplomacy. It comes from a man and an administration that is drunk with power and that thinks they are world rulers when, in fact, they are utter fools.

His answer to his critics? He and Obama have a commitment to finding peace in the Middle East. Not true. They have an agenda that promotes every radical Islamic cause in the Middle East, that marginalizes every Christian in the region, and that would bring about a swift end to Israel and her people.

For such actions, there are terrible consequences. We are forcing our best ally to negotiate with a gun to their head.

The Bible's references to end-time "strong delusion" are appropriate here. In fact, there is no other explanation. Yes, the Antichrist will specialize in that but before that, we're seeing a run-up with like-minded fools engaging in it.

The time is long overdue for this country to stop asking "how high?" whenever Israel says "jump." Let them suffer the consequences of their perpetual violations of international law. Let's also not forget what "our strongest ally" did to the USS Liberty nor about getting Jonathon Pollard to steal extraordinarily sensitive intelligence info from the US after which they made him a national hero complete with Israeli citizenship while he rots (we can only hope) in US prison.

Damascus is on the verge of ceasing to be a city, and will become an uninhabitable ruinous heap! ...Isaiah 17:1

Commentary

Seven months ago I anticipated seeing such pictures soon. To wit:

I've been watching the news with the sound turned down for the most part. I really can't stand the uninformed and/or self-deceived commentaries, and I'm just waiting for the camera shot taken from a high-altitude spy plane showing a giant hole or pile of rubble where Damascus used to be. From that point forward, I will anticipate with joy my last living transition. Looking forward to see you there, Brother.

Not the aerial shot I was anticipating, but one of the links to a pictorial of the Syrian civil war indeed shows rubble in many places in Damascus, though the pictures and captions make it unclear how much of the city is affected in the same devastating way at this point. It will be the whole city soon though, I know.

Interesting little thing here....When I first saw your post with the "Commentary" link, I immediately clicked on it, and then followed a link there to the pictorial I previously mentioned. Spent some time there, then spent some time trying to find the post of mine I wanted to quote, and then went back to the Commentary link to get the link to the pictorial to put in this post. It appears that the Commentary link was hacked while I was completing the process. Someone else needs to try to follow it to see if it works for them, but when I click on it now, this is all I get after a 10 or 15 second pause before loading:

HackedChristianSite.jpg

I did a screen-grab of the whole page, which is pretty long, and that's why it's shrunk from side-to-side. I had to look in my History to find the link I was looking for of the pictorial. That's here, and I highly recommend folks take a gander. This is the very near future for all those Left Behind. Prepare accordingly.

Society must tolerate the evolutionary process as it takes time for natural selection to replace the weak and infirm unsuitable for ongoing development.
