"Safe Storage" Laws = Just Another Avenue of Criminalizing Defense

Typical liberal logic.... start out with some totally irrelevant but super sensational scenario intended to evoke a strong emotional response in an effort to equate that with being responsible for other people's actions THEN use that to justify a measure of gun control using the liberal's favorite emotional hook of... dead children.

I am soooooooo sick and tired of having people use the specter of dead children (shame on you!) to push their gun control agenda ... and yes, you are pushing a gun control agenda! because you are pushing for other people to adhere to a set of storage standards YOU think is "responsible", "appropriate", and "acceptable", ... and those 3 words are the very essence of every gun control measure ever thought of because it is wanting, expecting, and in the case of laws... demanding... others meet your standards.

And I am sick and tired of hearing people say that everyone should store their guns "responsibly" (or carry them "appropriately", keep only the "acceptable" ones, dress and behave "acceptably") the way THEY say is proper.

Gun owners have been browbeaten into thinking that the anti gunners will leave them alone as long as they only buy the guns that other people say are "appropriate", only carry guns in ways that don't "scare" anyone, and only store guns in safes, in order to present an image of "respectability" in order to gain "acceptance". And thus we now have a culture of gun owners cowering in fear of offending people by exercising their natural right to keep and bear arms.

In short... gun owners have been shamed into a mind set of being afraid to exercise their right to keep and bear arms lest doing so should cause someone to push for more restrictions because they were "offended".

Second, when N R A first started posting under that name, he had the courtesy to put in his sig-line that he formerly posted as "Glock20." I remembered that I had expressed some disagreements with his posts under that nick before, but didn't go looking for them to refresh my memory what they were about or anything, because I try to be a let-bygones-be-bygones kinda guy, and figured I'd just wait and see where the new nick took us. Well, it has now taken us full-circle, as his attitude in this thread is much like one in which "Glock20" slammed an OC'er "for his looks" who got harassed for nothing more than OC'ing, and justified the cops' actions on that basis.

In another thread he ridiculed the several posters who answered the OP's question about safety on or off while carrying a DAO or DA/SA semi-auto that they (we, as I was one who answered) carry chambered and safety off. He included more garbage about how it's all about the widdow chirren! and other shop-worn, clichéd slogans, just like here.

Maybe if we call him out enough times he'll at least change his nick again and get the specter of gun-control lite organizations out of our faces every time he spews more gun-control lite nonsense to go with the nick.

Call it what you will, liberal or conservative, lite or draconian, it's still gun control.

It is liberal to not lock up your guns, it is conservative to lock them in safes. You have that notion backwards.
It is the liberal of today (not the true liberal) who considers themselves so much smarter, so much more qualified, and some even consider themselves divinely destined, to not only tell other people what to do but to require the lowly commoners to do what they are told.

I submit your own words:

Every gun owner / homeowner, everyone purchasing a home, MUST own a fire rated, burglar rated, safe. No safe, no home loans, no car loans, no credit card loans. Period.

Every gun owner / homeowner, every adult in the household must join the state level national guard, and keep their full auto rifles in their safe.

Dang... there isn't a "puking" emoticon...............

There is a video on you tube of LE entering a home in the Katrina aftermath. They were rounding up people to evaluate and were confiscating guns. This woman was refusing to leave her home. Elderly woman. She was not combative, just wanted to stay. When the officer asked her if she had a gun, she reached out and picked up a rifle leaning unnoticed against the wall. Her actions were slow and very much non threatening. The officer saw the gun and took her down hard to the floor. Very uncalled for.
I remember some of that. Cops going door to door to relieve you of your weapons while perps go door to door to relieve you of your valuables. I believe the people are entitled to protection under the law with regard to the private documents and valuables stored in their safes. Tax records, property deeds, wills, stocks, bonds, gold, jewelry... they have no right to know about any of this that people may have. And if someone chooses to remain in their home to protect their valuables no law should be enacted to interfere.
.
We bought a Liberty Lincoln a few years ago. It was around 875 lbs. We needed to lower it into the basement tied to the back of my truck. What a three-ring-circus that was. I don't think we could ever get it back out though. It will remain with the house when I eventually leave.

I do not go through forums attacking other members. People that do that are unfortunate. Stick to issues. How hard is that?

Careful telling this forum you have a quality safe, you are likely to be labeled a liberal. Lol
