This has turned into a murder investigation.
I am guessing that in light of the Trayvon Martin case the prosecutors are afraid to accept any "self defense" pleas.

I find your analysis without any merit. The shooter is accused of lying about what happened, and their evidence is, according to the link you provided, that she didn't even arrive at the store until nine minutes after the first 911 call. If true, that's primafacia proof that the crime scene was staged or otherwise tampered with in some manner. The Martin/Zimmerman case has nothing to do with this. The TPD simply continued to investigate and found important inconsistencies in the shooter's story. If self-defense had nothing to do with the shooting, then, obviously, the plea should not be accepted. That was true before Martin/Zimmerman, and it damn well better be true after, lest we devolve into no rule of law protecting anything in our society.

This is illustrative of just how ridiculous it is to take a firm "good-guy/bad-guy" stance based on initial reports of a shooting incident. That appears to be the only relation to the Martin/Zimmerman case this incident shares.

At the time of my post they were not offering any further information about the arrest other than it turned into a murder investigation as opposed to a self defense incident.
Since the time of my post the story has been updated with the current information as we know it.
My speculation about the change to the investigation was a bit premature.
Still, I think it will be quite interesting to follow this story as it unfolds.
