This shop keeper/store owner defends herself against robbery by a regular customer. Scary thing is her statement "she never fired the gun before" and judging by the way it went down, she may want to consider some range time, but she got the guy.

News From AP | TBO.com

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Tampa police say the owner of a grocery store shot and killed a 16-year-old boy during an attempted robbery.
Police spokeswoman Irene Thomas told the Tampa Tribune ( Link Removed ) that Quintavius Antonio Moore stopped in Baker's Mini Mart Monday morning and asked store owner Taquanda Shanti Baker for change. He returned about a half-hour later armed with a handgun.

Gee....
Sounds like another one of those innocent 16 year olds eh?

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

On Sunday a man here in my area shot and killed a whack-o that was attacking his family with a 2x4.

If it were up to some (Schumer??, Obama??), the legally-armed shooter would be in jail right now. According to them, the family (including 2 toddlers) should have just run away. Yeah.....if it were only that easy.

Oh that mean women! She went and shot that little boy who never did no wrong... +1 for the good guys.:sarcastic:

Another fatal lead poisoning case due to one own actions. With all the fatal poisoning of certain demographics, I'm surprised the EPA hasn't banned lead dispensers.

Great job for the clerk. !!

Oh, to live in a world where every (insert color here) 16 year old deserves killing and every shoot is righteous. I know you all know that details like "armed with a handgun" and a store clerk who has violence come to her matter...yet it is all - no race intended - "black and white". Our community of legally-armed civilians needs to approach these issues more rationally than those allied against us.

Fat chance.

All I know is this;

When I was 16 years old, living in a broken home, raised as an abused kid in a bad neighborhood surrounded by gangs (North East Los Angeles), I went to school & I worked at a part time job for some extra cash.
I never joined a gang and I certainly never robbed folks or assaulted people with weapons.

Right there with you on this one. Grew up dirt poor. About 50 miles east of you. Drug addicted parents, 14 schools in 12 years, gang neighborhoods. And never once became a "product of my environment". Goes to show that the reality is... People are not a product of their environment, You can stand on your own 2 feet, and life is about choices.

Amen to that my brother! :)

Glad for this lady it did not happen here in Tulsa,Oklahoma. I am positive our Police Officers would have arrested her, and our Tulsa County District Attorney Tim Harris would charge her with murder.
Our Police Tulsa Oklahoma Chief of Police Chuck Jordan and Our Tulsa County District Attorney Tim Harris do not condone any non law enforcement person using a firearm for any reason.

No that does not sound like another one of those innocent 16 year old kids. It looks like a 16 year old kid that was about to or in the process of commiting an armed robbery. Period. Nothing implied.

:bad:

Dark: Even though we live in an imperfect world, not all 16 year old kids "deserve" killing. However, if a 16 year old sticks a gun in my face, regardless of race, he has instantly become an adult and we are in a different game. First, a kid that age should not have had a gun and, second, he shouldn't be trying to rob a store. We don't know the full particulars of this shooting yet but we do know it was a black on black killing, not that that should make any difference. We should all cool our heels and wait for the final outcome before we become so vocal.

We had a young fellow who, with his three year old, went to pay his phone bill. After coming out of the office, a young black teenager, with several friends, stuck a pistol to the back of his head and demanded his money. The fellow asked him to let him put his child in his truck first. While securing his child, the fellow pulled out his own gun and shot the teenager in the forehead. His friends immediately disappeared. That was an unfortunate event but is indicative of how young thugs of today act. Hard to feel sorry for someone like that. Rather than blame being laid on racial grounds, why in hell can't we ALL do something to straighten out ALL young kids and keep this from happening? Rather than have rabble rousers stirring up racial hatred, why can't we become more civilized, not like animals?

It's up to the parents of these kids to raise their offspring. The days of,{it takes a village to raise a kid** is long gone. To many parents dont take care of their kids lke they are suppoed to. Then they blame their problem on everybody else.If people would punishing their kids once in a while and watch who they are hanging out with it would go along way to helping.

UPDATE:
This has turned into a murder investigation.
I am guessing that in light of the Trayvon Martin case the prosecutors are afraid to accept any "self defense" pleas.
