I'm hoping to take my CCL in the next couple of months and I am already researching suitable pistols for concealed carry.

Welcome. If you haven't settled on anything yet I suggest you try going to a range that rents guns. There you can try different makes, models and calibers until you find the one that suits you. Could help you from making a costly mistake.

Thanks everyone. I do have a friend or two at work that I can talk about guns. Already been to the range with one of them. Tried his S&W 9mm and a SA XD .40 subcompact. I did like the palm & trigger safeties on th XD. Both were easy to shoot. Also tried a Tarus .380 but didn't like it so much. Still so many more to consider though.

I own the XD-40 subcompact and love it! I am a HUGE XD fan! My next XD will be the XDM 9 5.25 competition
