Look at what followed me home...

I just went to see if the holster I asked the owners wife to order for me came in and there it was in the case.

I have been looking at this one for a few weeks. So my Sig Mosquito is on consignment and this followed me home... I love Smith & Wesson firearms... I'm a S&W junkie...:man_in_love:

Where's the cylinder, Shooter?

That really does have a nice set of grips...!!!!!
Let us know how is pokes holes in the paper!
Followed ya home huh....

Sweet! I have been looking for a 22 auto for a while. I owned a Browning Buckmark in the past and regret ever selling it. I like the S&W. Who knows I may find one this spring. Great looking pistol!

That's 6shooterCARRY... A little too big to carry:sarcastic:

Although I have been fond of the M&P45 on my side more often than not.

I've been going to a 22-rimfire only plate shoot match every other Monday night across the border in CT. Getting my but kicked by guys (and a gal who can shoot) with Ruger MKII and III pistols, a few Model 22A's and one guy using an older S&W model 41. Most all are sporting red dot scopes. Last match the guy who built the plate rig we use, let me try his 22A-1 with the same red dot I have mounted on mine. I took 6 shots, turned 4 plates quickly and took that round. So I was using the wrong gun (Sig Mosquito with open sights)..I fell in love with the feel of the grips, the weight of this one is heavier than the skeeter so the felt recoil is very low. The trigger is light and smooth and has a good break, but I was told with some polishing it gets better.

I'm gonna head for the range tomorrow and break it in and zero the scope. Monday night will be the shoot, I'll give the final review after that.

Peace...

Peace, Brother... Have Fun, Shoot Well (or we give ya snot for a few days...), Be Safe...

I'm a fan of S&W. This is nice. I'll have to ask my husband. Happy shooting:)

Type that again... You need to ask your husband for permission?:sarcastic:

I asked my wife for this one. I have to say she is very cool about things like that. She is supportive and enjoys shooting as well.

I took it to the range today and I was impressed (as I expected to be). It made nice 1/2" to 3/4" groups at 10yds.

I zeroed the scope at that distance for the plate shoot Monday night. I'm gonna set it for 25yds the next time I'm at the range.

500+ rounds today and not a single feed jam!! The only negative for today was the Remington Thunderbolt ammo.. CRAP!!! box of 350 and 20 no fires. It's not the first time I've had issues with that ammo. I think I'll stick with the Federal and CCI... I'll post target pictures later this week.

Peace..

I knew I saw that gun somewhere before. Wasn't it used in the movie "Men In Black"?

I had fun... I shot well... I was safe... It was a good trip to the range.
No feed jams, 500+ rounds... I'll post target pics later this week.
Very accurate..

That is one lovely lady you got there. If you don't mind me asking, what did the rig set you back with the optics? I've been thinking about getting a Ruger. However having seen that, I am seriously getting all hot and bothered.

My friend Steve (no longer alive) had a bunch of Browning guns and one of them was the Buckmark. I recall it was a good shooter.

I had a ball with it at the range. Not a single feed jam. The gun was better than the crappy Remington Thunderbolt ammo I had...It loved the CCI..

Peace...

The 22A-1 was $289.00

The Simmons ShotDot 1x30mm Red Dot Scope was $46.00 or so with shipping. It comes with the Weaver rings and all the needed mounting hardware. The 22A-1 has the full length Weaver mount.

I was looking at the Ruger as well, but this one just felt better in my hand. Field stripping and reassembly is so much easier on the 22A vs the MRKII and III... Try one.

I'm gonna post the targets later this week. I zeroed the scope at 10yds just to get ready for the Monday night plate shoot. I'll be back at the range to take it out to 25yds just to see how good it gets...

Peace...

I appreciate that. I was on their website and could not find it. I think I might have to go to the range and try one out. I've got a model 7 I'd like to sell, should be more than enough. Summer's around the corner, and I'd really like a nice plinker to fool around with on the range. If that thing handles half as well as it looks then I'm sold.

Done. I posted some of the targets on my "Albums" page Range Porn. It was different than the Sig Mosquito.
More weight to hold still so the 2nd cup of coffee had an adverse effect.
Very accurate. The ShotDot scope was easy to zero. Couple of clicks and the hits were on the dot.

Then the real test. Monday at the plate shoot. Placed 3rd out of 10 shooters. Not bad for the first time under some pressure with this gun.

Made some mods to the grip as I learned the hard way that the wood was extended a little too far beyond the mag well and was cut too narrow to facilitate quick magazine swaps. I fumbled a bit when I had to reload. I looked at 2 of the same model guns at the shoot and noted some grip rework others had done that I liked. I took the grip off and held it for a while and let my fingers tell me where to smooth and remove some material. It's a work in progress.

So my question is, Where are the pictures of yours?

Peace.

Nicely done 6SC, 3rd for the first time out, That's good too... You'll get used to that thing and you will be 1 of 10!

I think there is a 100 yard target in the pictures trying to get the 44 into Festus's group. I am getting anxious to get the range open again...

Yea the days are getting longer and a bit warmer. I need to get hold of Tim and get my application in for a local club here that has a nice outdoor range. Still waiting for my Sig to sell so that I can roll that money into a small summer carry piece. Looking at a S&W M&P40 compact.

Will see what happens.

Peace.
