Kahr Ripped Me

So a few weeks ago i bought a new kahr CW40 had the gun for two weeks and the slide stop pin had damaged the top slide. Anyways i called kahr up and they were like send it back to us and we will repair it no problem. Okay so they have had it for two weeks now so i thought i would call them to find out the progress on it. I was told today that they will not be repairing it that it did not fall under warranty. So i am out $450 had the gun for two weeks and now they are not able to fix it. I advised them that this was ridiculous and that i would not be buying anymore fire arms from there company. The guy said we can replace the slide if you send us $145 for a new one and i told the guy why would i do that when i have had the gun for two weeks and it is new. Shot the gun one time. So kahr does not stand beside there warranty on defects. Where can i report this? Thanks

It is okay I advised them today that i would check on legal action against there company and them manufacturing fire arms that are not safe. I will not lay down and take this.

I'm curious too - How did the slide-stop pin damage the "top" slide? Did you fail to seat it properly, allowing it to tilt upwards toward the slide? If that's the case, Kahr would be right, it ain't their problem.

If it's a manufacturing defect, you'd be right in pursuing legal remedies, but I'm having trouble imagining what defect would allow a properly-seated slide pin to get tangled up in the slide at all. Did you happen to take pictures of the damage before sending it to Kahr? It would help anyone so-inclined to give you good advice if you did.

They would not give to me a reason to why they could not fix or repair under warranty !

Did you take pictures or not? If not, for future reference, always take pictures of a damaged weapon before you send it off for repair, regardless of its warranty status. Nobody here can give you the advice you asked for in your OP without pictures to go on, and if you didn't take pics prior to sending it out for repair, you can't prove that it was a manufacturing defect rather than user-error that caused the damage.

There's no reason to get defensive about it. You asked for advice, and I asked for more information so that you could get some good advice. This falls under the category of.....

It seems like this may be a case of failing to read the manual. I always read the manual, learn how to take down and reassemble well before I fire any weapon new to me. Bummer on a new gun being ruined though...

Kahr CW45 I had failure and would not function. The gun was 1 month old. I called Kahr, they told me that the problem was a known problem, send it in and we'll fix it free. I told them that spending another $60 on a $400 GUN was not my idea of customer service, especially as it was a known defect. That was my 2nd Kahr with problems. No more Kahr's for me.

If that's their MO, then obviously people shouldn't buy their products. They're too pricey for my tastes anyway. I still wonder what the problem with the OP's weapon is/was though, as something's missing from his description that I can't picture in my mind without a picture in front of my eyes. I wasn't defending Kahr though. I was just trying to figure out how to give advice to someone who asked for it.

Post a blast on their FB page and on their customer reviews. I've done that a couple of times and gotten immediate positive action.

Act like a jerk when Kahr might not be at fault at all. Really ethical. And indefensibly juvenile. (Did you even bother reading some of the dialog after the initial rant?)

Yeah I have already bashed there Face Book lol

Worst customer service I have ever seen in my life. The company does not stand behind its products or fire arms. I will never buy from them again. They should be reported for Manufacturing fire arms that are not safe. SCREW KAHR

There customer service sucks! Had to argue with them over my PM9..the polymer frame swelled from shooting it in IDPA events! They eventually gave me a new frame but they swore up and down that the new one will be swelled also! Sure enough it was but no where near the way mine was! Skumbags..they probably put another used frame on mine! They said the swelling is normal! I told them if I look at a brand new gun I guarantee the swelling wouldn't be there! I have to go look at a new gun! Anyway I love the gun I shoot it well and will just use it for carry and buy a steel frame Kahr for extended shooting!
