Justification for believing in fairy tales? Well of course a fairy tale is going to justify itself.
Justification for believing in fairy tales? Well of course a fairy tale is going to justify itself.
Why do think this way?
It's very simple, and it is the very same reason you don't believe in Jedi Knights, the Easter Bunny, Santa, and thousands of other gods.
Do you have any history within a Christian church or family?
Nope.
thank god
Funny. So what is it about Christians that you hate? I mean you spend a lot of time putting us down. What's your motivation? What do you hope to accomplish?
I don't hate christians, but I do recognize that people that follow religions are the greatest threat to mankind's future. Look at the root cause of the majority of war and terrorists acts today. Religion is the impetus of most of the hate we see in the world today. Be it hatred of other religions, gender bias, racism, even hating people for the people that happen to love.
I suspect that as a gun owner, perhaps someone that trains and carries for protection, and practices situational awareness, you understand that threats cannot be ignored. Not all threats are some punk on drugs that merely want my stuff at any cost to fund his next drug fix. Some threats put the future of civilization in jeopardy. Religious conflicts have already destroyed our countries future, through debt and the erosion of freedoms. Who would have believed that our children would have to submit to being groped by government goons just to fly to visit grandma at Christmas. Religion did that.
Christianity is one of those religions. I cannot separate them for they are all based on fears, phobias and ancient ignorance.
As an individual no, collectively yes.I know people use religion to advanced personal agendas, but I don't see how guys like me are a threat.
Many don't practice that, and it has been proven when christians go to the polls to impose the hate they are taught in the bible into civil laws that effect everyone, with the only purpose to discriminate against and deny rights to a group of people based only on their personal beliefs or gender or race, or whom they happen to love. Fortunately the courts have overturned most of these religiously motivated agendas as unconstitutional.I have my relationship with God and the Bible as my moral compass. It tells me to love God and love my neighbor as myself. That means treating my neighbor as I would like to be treated. Scary, I know. ;-)
I understand that as a christian you keep trying to separate christians from the fray, but how is your religion different than many others? Beliefs in a supernatural beings, rewards or punishment after death, and demanding strict adherence to laws dating back to a time when men didn't know where the sun went at night. It's true that some religions are at the heart of wars, and people have (wrongly) used Christianity to give their own agenda fake validity, but that's a lot different than sharing biblical prophecy thoughts and telling people what Christ did for them, like we do.
So do you see OG, Ringo and I as part of the greatest threat to mankind's future? If so, how is mocking us solving or mitigating that problem?
Ringo and OG have been very vocal about their hatred for others that have different views, while justifying it as what they believe their god wants.
The title to this thread was "Is our world in chaos?". The answer is yes. That's why I carry a gun. Can we move on now, please? Good grief.
Ringo and OG have been very vocal about their hatred for others that have different views, while justifying it as what they believe their god wants.
~ It’s LOVE that constrains us to tell people they are lost and headed for Hell if they don’t know Jesus Christ, not hate. Hate says nothing ~
...."how is your religion different than many others?" Whether he meant to acknowledge that other religions do exist, or not, his own words do say that there are other religions so, in that case, why doesn't he castigate others for their beliefs?
Agreed, the world is in chaos and I would say that is why most of us do carry a gun. However, I know of no reason why there is the necessity of insulting or otherwise attempting to demean one simply because of their religion. If one doesn't believe in a deity of any sort, that is fine with me, but don't try to demean me for my belief. If you do, I feel compelled to reply in similar manner. It is somewhat similar to your carry weapon. If you like a Kimber, fine. Just don't criticize me for carrying a Sig. You use what you prefer, as do I, and I will not criticize you for your choice. Conversely, if you enjoy conversing with others who think as you, it isn't necessary for me to criticize your conversation or to otherwise make myself a pain in your backside. Can we move on? Absolutely, just as soon as we all agree to stay out of the business of others. If I agree with some subject you proffer, I may make a statement in agreement with you. But, if I don't agree, it isn't necessary for me to say anything at all.
